I bought a new battery pack for my nitro rustler because the switch wasn't working. Not i plugged in the new switch and the receiver turns on (before it wouldn't even turn on. No red light) with a solid red light. When I go to bind it by pressing the set button then turning on the receiver it l starts flashing red. Normal. Then I do the same with the receiver and it just has a solid red light and thats it. What do I do?

Perhaps you're setting the failsafe

Usually, you should hold a bind button on your transmitter WHILE turning it on, and then hold the bind button on your receiver WHILE switching it on. After this, you should turn off your receiver first, as an exception, and then your transmitter

That's what I did. I pressed the set button on the transmitter then turned it on and got a red flashing light. I then pressed and held the link button on the receiver and turned it on and left of the button but all I get is a solid right light. I dbl checked to make sure I had it plugged into the right spot and changed the batteries in both

The solid light should be a good indication. What does the manual say? I'm not familiar with Traxxas electronics. Some receivers require a bind connector to the 3rd channel instead of clicking a button

A solid red light is no Bueno. A solid green is good. I reached out to traxxas nitro rc support and they said a solid red indicates a bad receiver and needs replaced which is what i already figured/feared. Ill buy a new one today at my local hobby store and see what happens.
