You will more than likely keep the savage. Out of the two trucks, it's much more durable than the maxx out of the box. The maxx has a faster top speed, but for stump pulling power and outstanding offroad durability, leave the maxx in the box and get what you can for it. Your going to want the $ for cool stuff on the savage.

Check the sticky at the top of the savage forum for the recommended hop ups. These are only recomendations, but it will help it last quite a bit longer before something gives. The steering and throttle upgrade will just make it more enjoyable for you as you learn.

Like others have said, you will be fortunate to get $300 US for the maxx even if it is brand new. Maybe you should offer the guy $350 for the savage and see, then you don't have to deal with it.

Just my .02!

Well you see, I am only going to be giving him $400 Canadian for it, which is about 300 US. So if I can get around 320 or so that would pay the expenses of the T-Maxx.
I think I will be picking these trucks up tomorrow after work, and starting the break in procedure with it.

Forget'em both. I see that the savage is the 21. So forget'em both & go out & buy hte Savage 25 or SS. WWSD

LMAO at suppaduppa...at the price he is paying for both trucks, he is getting quite a bargain.

The Savage .21 is a great starter truck. He can hop it up and add a more powerful engine should he desire. When he sells the T-Maxx, he would have the coin for a new engine. I started with a .21 Savage and it was/is a great truck. Just ask Olds.

Benwahballz, Welcome to RCNT and a great hobby. Get the two trucks, keep the Savage and sell the T-Maxx. You will have a blast with the Savage. I guarantee it.

Out of the two I still vote for the Savage, both if you have to, but it did just occure to me that for that kind of money you could get a LST. Never seen one in action, but I hear they are awsome. Also, I don't know if they are a worthy "bigginer truck" or not. Na, nevermind. Parts are easy to find for the Savage, and that is a big plus.

get them both, sell the maxx, tear a$$ with the savage till you break something and them start your hopups. no matter what you eventually do with the trucks, you are getting a deal youll kick yourself for if you pass it up.

Keep in mind he's in canada where everything is more expensive to get. He may not be able to get a LST for what he's paying for these 2 trucks.

Yeah, maybe not. I was just an idea. Honestly if it were me I would get them both, and keep them both. It's always nice to have two. That way if one is broke, you can drive the other one untill it is fixed.

Thanks Maxx

What are u driving right now?

I recently got out of Monster Trucks and now run buggies. I have two MBX-5s and a Storm. Buggies are great fun, but I had a blast with my MTs. I ran the Savage most of the time, but enjoyed my T-Maxx a great deal, too. I just didn't like the money I had to sink in the T-Maxx to keep it in top bashing form.

Since, I noticed you have already gone through with your deal...I will say congratulations and suggest you enjoy the heck out of the Savage.

One thing you might want to ask, is if the Tmaxx is the newer 2.5 version. He may have had an original TMaxx sittin up there on the shelf. Either way, the price isn't bad at all...
Welcome to RCNT, you'll have a blast with either ride...

So far its been fun, just trying to properly tune the carb so it runs great now.......
