Now that no prep season is ending I'm thinking about getting in to drifting for the winter. I could make a small track in my garage but the floor isn't polished, but by no means is it rough. I'd like to keep it unpolished so i could run a small scale on road car too.

Would this still be good practice or should I not waste my time?

There's talks of setting up a drift track at one of the hobby shops about 40 minutes from me, I assume I would also need an extra set of rear wheels for that. But might even be able to do some comps if I can practice in my garage.

If you have the space, it would be great practice. Also, do you have 1/10 a drift car?
For the tires, just buy a cheap pair on Amazon and you should be just fine.

Its a 1.5 car garage so might be a little tight but I'm gonna give it a shot anyway. Ordered the DC10 kit and picked up some yokomo tires for asphalt, I figured that would be a closer match than the tile/carpet compound.
