Has anyone run one of these engines. I was thinking of upgrading one of my Tmaxx trucks with one. Its a Novarossi 2.5 supercharged engine upgrade for the maxx series trucks.

I haven't run one but Novarossi has a pretty good rep & at $180 for engine, header, pipe & rotostart backplate thats a steal if your wanting another 2.5/.15 engine for truck.
 
What is the difference In regular plug and turbo plug heads

Has to do with how they seal and fit inside the combustion chamber. A turbo plug always seats flush with the inside of the chamber and has beveled edges to seal with:

A standard plug seals with a copper washer and can vary in length. Depending on the plug/engine, it may not sit flush with the inside the the chamber. This causes a bit more turbulence inside than a turbo plug, so the burn isn't as consistent:
