satarday 4:00 pm. they are at the 4 wide track. have seen 6-7 runs, lane 3 has holes in the track, so now they have to patch the lane over night to run 4 wide on sunday. and EACH run has only 1-2 cars run at full throttle full length, each run. WE NEED SEALED ENGINES, for the whole race.

I don't like this 4-wide drag racing. Bruton Smith tried to come out with things like this. NHRA drag racing is 2 cars and 2 lanes. 4 wide is cool, but should only be used in exhibition IMO. It changes everything. Although, at the same time, it adds something. Comparable with plate races in NASCAR I guess.

your so right bulldog. a 4 wide makes it to where you are racing 3 cars, it totally changes the fall out, it takes three cars out not one. they could have two races at once, only one car is out per 2 lanes. whats bad is that NHRA make you race 1 car for most of the year, and 3 only on one day of the year. i just got my radio control car action mag. it has a pic of traxxas rc funny car. its electronic, it should be nitro. the quality of Photos is out standing. i would want one but iam a nitro guy

They come to Atlanta in a month. Can't wait. I don't really follow it like I used to but I go every year.

years ago the idea came up to seal the engine, and it can't be taken apart to fix the inside parts. like this, the oil pan has a seal on it, and from the start of qualifying to the last race it can't come apart. different ideas came up, heads sealed, oil pan sealed, with different ways to do it. what this would do is make the tuning guy drop the power down so he can finish the race. the seals would be checked each run, and check any time the car is being worked on. they would still have different ways to tune, amount of fuel, adjust the valve lash, ignition timing. but they can't change the pistons, the heads, valves. the qualifying i saw sat the top fuel cars had more cars NOT finish the run than did. how is that fun? and/or no burn outs, or no water burn outs, and no burn outs past the starting line. with these ideas NHRA could them use what ever amount of nitro they want, so no need for NHRA to check the nitro.
