WA would be nice place if it weren't for Seattle. that seems to be where all the stupid comes from.
OR has the same problem with Portland.
CO has Denver.
its amazing how 1 densely populated city can F up an entire state.
CA has 3 of those cities.

I happen to live in the not Seattle area in Washington, and i can confidently say that you're probably right. For me, it's mostly just the sketchyness in the downtown area. I also have found many a Facebook marketplace listing that my search gave me that was in Seattle, and not Spokane, where i live. On the flip side, I went to an aquabats concert there, so it can't be all stupid. Just mostly stupid.

i blame politics/politicians. you get soft on crime, tolerant of open air drug use. a failure to uphold law and base decisions on feelings and optics instead of facts and accountability. that type of stupidity will pretty much ruin anywhere.

Every city is ruined for someone. Some could argue this was done deliberately to concentrate all the undesirable people in 1 location. Maybe folks just got tired of the uppity yuppie culture that requires 11 foreign words strung together to get a cup of black coffee from a barista.

I was working in Seattle over the summer. I walked past this old man smoking crack. I had to go back to my work van for something. I turned around right as the old man stood up... that dude had no bottoms on. I see stuff like that everytime I'm up that way. People standing all over the place bent over with their arms swaying because of fentanol.

but 20+ years ago you would be arrested for buying/selling/possessing it. today they give you needles and aid you in your destruction. if most of the junkies flopped out on the street had faced consequences early in there addiction they wouldn't be flopped out on the street and would be sober.

There is no guarantees anyone would be sober. The pattern only suggests if your addicts have overwhelming talent and draw a crowd that equals tourism and revenue no one cares how messed up they are. Maybe this was a plan to revive the Seattle grunge scene....and now folks are mad it's not revealed the next strung out super star.

Turns out making stuff illegal doesn't actually stop people from doing it.

it's not just Seattle with that problem. Seattle's just the one with the most recent music relevance. tourism and revenue have nothing to do with it. its academia's attack on western civilization. i could go full tinfoil hat on that but this is an RC car forum and we're already way off topic so ill save everyone the read.

2 things come to mind because of the sign.
1. id like to drink a Coca-cola next to that sign just to mock it.
2. consequences do curb behavior. laws/consequences can't stop you, but they can hold you accountable. that's good enough to keep 99% of us on the straight and narrow 99% of the time.

I'm more of a baja bug and vintage buggy kinda guy. I'm over saturated, so trophy trucks are only amusing when they're 20 feet in the air at 80+mph.
