This Sunday I roamed Rhode Island and Southeastern Mass looking for a new buggy track. The club I went to last year closed down and I need a place to race. Up here in Southern New England, quality tracks are very scarce. I ended up at RPM Hobbies. Currently there is no event on Sunday there but I hope we can change that. Anyone in the area who can make it down there on Sunday is welcome.

The track needs a little TLC. The track is big, but one issue is that there is currently no access to running water to dampen the track. There is running water we just dont have approval to use it yet, if we get a decent showing this sunday I think we will be able to strike a deal to have access to a hose. Anyone who can come might consider bringing a couple cheap gallons of water to dampen the track as the day goes on. We currently have 5 people committed to showing up, we need more!

It's not hard to get to - click this link and click for directions to the place. It's Right here. It's up Route 24 and it's not far off the highway.

Like he said, the track could use a little work - but it's got a lot of potential. They have the whole transponder set set up and ready to go. They do have water available but the owner seems hesitant to use it unless there's a good showing.

It's been pretty hot this summer and the track a lot of us used to go to shut down, and I figure nobody's racing because nobody knows where to get some good races. I'll be there this weekend - if you're local I urge you to show up.

The cool thing about this track is that you are free to use it any day of the week.

There's still plenty of summer left!

Looks like we will have good weather sunday. No rain in the forecast but we do need water to keep the dust under control. I hope we can get enough 1/8 scales this first week to run a race, if not we'll worry about classes later and just race everything together (even though the buggies will blow by everything else ...:buggy1: )
