I just got this old 4WD nitro truck. I'm having hard time getting it to work.
I already spent $40 on fuel, some parts and tools. When glow plug is in place pull start cord will not move freely, even thou engine is not flooded. When I remove the plug, it works well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your pulling it hard enough?
Sounds like a dumb question, but I ask because when the plug is in, there is more compression then when it's out...
Try tightening the glow plug, then losen it just a touch (1/8th of a turn) and try to start it like that.

What kind of truck/engine.

I've read somewhere that pull start should work without holding the car down. When its in I have to apply lots of force to get it moving. I'm scared that something might snap.

I dont know what truck it is, but engine says O.S Maxx CV Power on it.

You bought it used right, I would take the pullstart off the engine and try pulling it just to make sure the pullstart isnt broken. you could try loosening the glow plug and pulling. My OS had a lot of pinch when I first got it.

Quick short pulls.
Your not starting a weed wacker...lol

I have to hold my MGT (monster truck) down when I start it.
And thats a heavy truck.

I have to hold my Hyper 7 down when I pull, and that is a heavy buggy, and my engine has a gallon through it. And if the engine is new or close to, you will have to hold it down.

Ok i got it to work. I put another washer under the plug. Wow that was loud.
Now the problem is that I'm not sure how the braking system works. Since its not mine, i dont know whats sposed to be there. What makes the car stop?

Not knowing what car you have, I can only give a general answer.
There's a round disk that has a set of pads that push against it to stop the car.
Sort of like the front brake on a motorcycle.

Look around the car/truck.

There should be a logo of something.
If it has an os cv, i would guess at a 2 wheel drive stadium truck??

Ok so it says that its a HPI truck. There is no model on it, but I'm sure its a 4WD. There is also something wrong with grears. They don't seem to transfer power over to one another, even after applying full throttle.

Does it look like this?

But with different tank, muffler, and engine.

How long/wide/tall is it? Bumper to bumper, outside wheel to outside wheel, ground to roof of body or engine.

If it has a pullstart and says OS cv on it, I'd bet it's the older HPI Nitro MT which is a 1/10 scale 4wd rig.

Does it look like this one?

This was mine with an OS 18 CV-R in it.

That was my guess Olds. Just because of the engine.

HPI RS4 MT (I think), with an OS CV.15. Not a bad score there. You may want to fasten the exhaust pipe a little better. Otherwise, you'll love that little truck.

Umm... yeah... that's none of the above.

It looks like somone took a 4wd 1/10 onroad car and made a truck out of it. Notice the sort shocks and header/exhuast/mount alignment. I don't think I've seen a truck that was belt drive before...
