  1. Bashing
well to me that would depend a lot on what you want to do with it...they are both HPI so the quality of both shouldn't be an issue really...if i just wanted to bash and beat the crap out of it...id get the savage....if you maybe want to race or run on a track in general id get the firestorm....either truck can be used in either instance but the are better suited for certain things...i don't race and don't know anything about it...but i would expect if you wanted to race you would need to know what type of vehicle others in your area are racing...there is probably a class for both of these...me i like to bash so i would get the flux.....

Thanks for the comment I would like it for bashing so I probably will go for the savage xs thanks

I'm going to go for the savage xs flux but I don't want to go lipo quite yet so is there any nimh stick pack battery's that will get the savage up to 40 mph or more it doesn't really matter about the price of battery thanks

Savage has a history of bieng a pretty rugged truck to bash around while the firestorm (is a nice truck) is not necessarily meant for bashing but rather racing. You can bash it but it wont be the same. can't go in tall grass or other sticky situations a monster truck can go with the high groung clearance. Just my .02 and welcome to rcnt!!

Hi thanks for the welcoming I don't suppose you know the answers to my question above ?

welcome to the site!! And Lipos are the way to go for speed and for longer un times... After I bought my first lipo I will never run a brushless system with out one or 2 what ever it calls for..... I even run lipos in some of my brushed r.c's because of run time and alittle extra umph... and yeah definetly get something twill go through what you want it to go through.. you dont want to be disapointed with your first one!!! there is always the traxxas e-revo, and brushless e-maxx that are pretty cool to I have been contimplating between them 2 for my next brushless vehicle..

another thing to think of is making sure the rig you pick isnt to big for the area you are going to be running in!! cause the bigger they are the more room you need to open it up or even really be able to play around.. If you have a small area there is the 1/16 e-revo or the 1-16 vxl summit. I am thinking of getting the 1/16 vxl summit for the family because a small space and we will be able to run all 4 of them racing around.. just alittle bit of info to think about before buying.. another thing is to go to your lhs and talk to them about what they carry for rigs and what part support they have aswell so you dont have to order everything.. and see what everyone else is racing just incase you decide to try it out along with bashing...

Well me personally ..I love traxxas products both for bashing and racing ..but hpi is a decent and reliable platform no matter what you get ..the main thing you need to consider is parts availability...because no matter how good of quality it is or how well you can drive ..PARTS WILL BREAK.!!!...and no one wants to miss run time waiting for parts to come when they could be running

For bashing, I'd go with the Savage. It's built like a tank and will take abuse.

That's not one he listed though. The Slash is a decent truck as is the Revo, but he asked about the HPI trucks.

i have a vxl and i haev never been able to break it and the cars are just realy good in my opion better than hpi cars that he is looking at

my first car was a traxxas rustler and it was a great car to learn to drive experiment with on parts and wont cost alot just get a bigger bumper and if u want when you get good at driving buy a vxl system.
