Should I get the new clipless mounts for my rustler? If I have the money I might. But I wonder how hard is it to modify the body to make them fit? I know they have clipless for the slash, but I like my proline screw on caps I have. They are adjustable to so I can lower the body for the track. Or can raise it if I put my offroad tires on.

My email to them must have worked 🤪
Quick funny side story. Mom is looking for a newer car to replace our older suv. She is living in the past. She got a 6 disk cd changer in her car and in the suv we have a single cd player. She emailed chevy saying if they can add a cd player to a new 2024 traverse. Never got an email back lol. Whoever read it was probably thinking she was crazy. 🤣

The beefed up parts are nice if long over due, unfortunately they've kept that same old gearbox from 1994 and the plastic shock caps.

I think I'll stick with the Rustler that I currently have.

That's a hop up on the vxl like the bearings and steel gears back in the day.

nope, these new ones still use the 272 from '94.
They have steel gears and bearings. The 94 model had pain un the rear yokes to install, nylon gears on bushings, and Phillips gears. This is a slight step up from the first versions.

The 3s is the 272r series.

Right, Still better than '94, but still the basic design. In other words, still the same Tranny as the old XL5 models.
The Slash kit has the 272R tho, thats why it costs more.

All the 2S models come with the 272R trans, same case but better gears (and a metal motor plate) than those from 1994.
All but the Slash Kit use the 272 from last-gen models.

Reason the kit is more expensive is cuz it's beefier than stock.

So I wasn't the only one who noticed the beefed up a arms, driveshafts and hubs.

I want the clipless body mounts so bad.

Thanks guys, guess I was having a senior moment! :bored:

I noticed, just don’t really seem super beefed up on the 2WDs.

Same on the clipless tho, that’s goin on the Rusty for sure
