when they made the tmaxx , everyone went crazy, i mean hey, i was 12 at that time and i loved the thing, me and my dad were just getting into nitro. And leaving behind the toys R' us nikko toys. Then the 2.5 came out and was great! But there takin it a lil to far now with the sportmaxx and stadium maxx. I wonder whats next.... i dont want to know lol

I'm just wondering out of curiousity, but how were the old days in r/c nitro? like were the engines easy to tune and fast? does anyone have pics of old Associated trucks or stuff like that, I'm jw. later

I was on another forum, talking to some friends, and a guy that works at traxxas (name will be unmentioned) made small talk about a project they are working on. Namely a BB Maxx! So, I would look out for another Maxx spin off. LOL! No seriously, they are just buying themselves sometime with this S-Maxx. When it comes right down to it guys, I know it's kind of a stupid spin off truck. Well, this is just what people are looking for in the MT racing scene. Look at the JT hybrids, SM's, Ofna pirate conversion, etc. Just my .02

Does anyone really want a Maxx sized ST?? Don't we have well established ones by AE and Losi? I mean, there is a Maxx racing class where most people run their MTs like STs anyway.

I really don't see the point of this kit. [/B]

Your post answers it's own questions....

This is not a bad idea, problem is just about everyone here is a basher and not a racer, depending on the whole scoop of this truck, I might be interested. It at least makes me take a look at these hokey (to me) trucks.

That price is a retail price, the only price traxxas or any other MFG puts on an item.

Yup, can you say 'Re-Hash' ? Everyone wants to get in on the MT wanna be buggy craze. Should we be bashing GS for their SUT ?
Afterall, it's what, 75% Storm ? I agree, Traxxas has milked that cow far too long. I like what SkYLiNe RaCeR said. Be risky, take a chance, let Traxxas put out a 1/8 scale buggy. I'm not real sure who their target audience is for this ride. Not for the entry level folks based on that price, and for that money I can make a SportMaxx race ready. But, as we all know, it'll probably sell. Not because it's better, but because it's something new on the shelf.

GS hasn't milked their design like Traxxas has. The SUT is almost an upgrade, contrary to the SportMaxx which is a downgrade.

Even if they do come out with a BB version, I'm sticking with my Savage. Traxxas is too entry-level for me now. Plastic universals?? C'mon. Gimmie a pull-start and instructions written in Japanese. :D

When traxxas came out with the OG T-Maxx, it set the RC world on its ear. That thing turned everything upside-down. I know it is the reason I am into RC today, but how many years ago was that? The RC world is not longer on its ear. It is no longer trying to "catch up" to the maxx. I don't get Traxxas, don't they listen to the RC community, its main market? Just keep milking that thing, while HPI, Losi, AE and others all keep putting out MT's with real power, that don't need almost total upgrades to make them durable. Just keep it up, and soon we will all be talking about how traxxas used to make one quality rig back in the day.

I have also heard that Traxxas has the prototype done for the BB Maxx. They are supposedly going to unveil something new at the RCX show in 3 weeks. I hope they don't unviel this S-Maxx as the next best thing in RC!! They were giving away the 2 speed with SportMaxxes for a while, they should have stopped there.

I like the body, I know it looks the same as the others, but I like the added airvent on the roof.

wtf... its sportmaxx with differnt rubbers and a two speed installled... when u can get the same freaking truck (a sportmaxx) and a twospeed for free for 300$. it looks like traxxas is charging 300$ for differnt tires and the installation of a twospeed....

traxxas was doing fine until this screwup....

In my experience only about 2% of all people in this hobby actually race......

Very true but this is Traxxas' first race piece in close to 10 years. It has a nitch.

I can't believe people think that they are going to sell for $600.00:hehe:

Heaven forbid the just make a vehicle that can withstand a beating and doesn't require you to lean the engine to the sky to get the front wheels off the ground.

Maybe this POS comes with the big bore shocks as well as a 2 speed. Whoopty friggen do. You will still need to rebuild the transmission, replace the sliders, pray to god your fuel tank doesn't break in the first five minutes, and oh yeah, hope the bulks hold up!

Waste of money and time.

I love my maxx, but it's mostly because the only thing that is still traxxas on it is the remote. And that, I'm going to replace as soon as i have the $. Oh yeah, and the receiver box.

What's next, the "BUGMAXX"! Stupid move crapsas.
