Nice...Very nice.
I am familiar with weatherby.
I had the 30.06 bull barrel, brush rifle (green).
I wanted the gun that you bought, but never got around to it.
Good luck with it.

Years ago i had The 300 weatherby mag..I loved it But It was a bit much LOL Ok A lot to much..

I am going out tomarow to get it bore sighted. Then to the range to hit some paper.
I hope the barrel floats good.I hate haveing to grind the stock Its ok for wood but composit sucks to grind...

My dad has a 7mm magnum Remington. That gun kicks ass but kicks like a mule. Makes a damn big hole in a deer. Nice gun Zandor!

They let you take it home the same day?

Here it takes an act of god, 21 days, background check and a colonoscopy.

I'm originally from IA. They don't let you use high power rifles for much of anything. Coyote... and I think that's about it.

Although, we used slug barrol shot guns and 22's for just about everything else. I had a scope pretty similar to that on my .22. My dad has one like that on his 12 gauge shotgun. Nothin like dropping a deer on the run at 150-200 yards with a 12 gauge. I know it doesn't sound like much distance, but shoot a few slugs through a shotgun and you will know what I mean. Isn't quite as smooth as a rifle.

We used the 22's for squirrel and rabbit. Anything within 100 yards was normally a head shot... I don't miss hunting, but I do miss shooting. The last deer I put down was with a bow on the run at about 60 yards. I got the stupid thing in the spine because it ducked just as I let it rip. I had to kill it with a knife... at least that's what my ol'man said I should do. After that, I couldn't bear to drop another one. I was 18 at the time.

Nice rifle though.

Very nice! Very nice!
Here in Indiananer we can cash and carry anything except machine guns. Desert Eagle? no prob, cash on the barrel head and a quick phone call. AK47? ditto. Anything. I love this state!
I love me all kinds of firearms. Muzzleloaders, cannons, gatling guns, tiny revolvers, giant pistols, big, small, me loves them all!
My current favorite in my collection is a Davide Perdosoli 1874 Sharps in .45-70 govt. Talk about boom baby! 500 grains of lead downrange!

Here in Mn. theres a 7 day waiting period on everything. And buying a handgun you have to have a permit to buy one. In Mn. the conceal and Carry is legal but again ya have to have a permit and a background check. My dad has one but rarely carries.

Here Its not cash and carry. You have to show ID.And they do call it in.For a back ground check.
it takes about 1 to 2 hours..

Oh, they still call it in, takes about 30 minutes, with the forms and all. Show ID, fed background check....

My wife grew up in CA. And her dad is heavy into SASS and Rifle sports. He tols me it usually took about 3 months, a background check and "Security Clearance Check" of some kind if you were military related.

Here is Texas you can walk in to a Wal-Mart drop two c notes and walk out with a Mossberg 12 Guage and Ammo in twenty minutes.

OK, this is going to seem like a stupid question.
Why do you want the barrel to "float?" Please explain how you do it and why or point me to a link that explains it.

I know, I'm a 43yr old idiot.
But I don't hunt, so I haven't had a need for a rifle. Got 4 handguns and an old WW1 Jap rifle that I have never shot. But I'm interested. Been thinking of getting a rifle to mess with.

Floating means that the barrel it self is not depending on the stock to hold it in place.
If the stock is touching the barrel Every time you shoot the rifle no matter what the siteing will be off..not much but enouf to through it off @100+ yards...
I hope this helps you out its the ony way I no how to explaine it

So when I go to site in my new rifle. If it is spurratic in the patern at all times after 20 rounds I will take the stock off and use plasti guage to determin were I need to shave the stock..

Must be nice! I told my wife I did not want a B-day present because x-mas was coming and taxes yada yada - so she goes out and buys a $250 purse... go figure
