New to RC's must beat my friend !! need help

HI everyone I'm completly new to RC's but i have been doing a little reading on about it so far i have like the following two cars the HPI Nitro RS4 3 SS or the 18Ss and the Associated Nitro TC3. They both look pretty cool to me but the car i need to beat is a Thunder Tiger TS4-N do these car have a chance or should i get da same car as my friend. ANy help or advice would be much apreciated.

Get a ntc3 and do an 18tz swap, foam tires, and get the best top end gears and you shouldn't have ANY problems beating him

i dont think you can do a 18tz swap and still be under 420

A traxxas Nitro 4tec will go 60+mph right out of the box.. But for a complete newbie speed isnt really somthing to be jumped into, esp. with a on road car. One bump of a curb and they damn near disinigrate. But anyway, my 2 dimes..

I agree with 4u2nv the 4-tec is the fastest road car I know of out of the box ,before I got my t-maxx I was thinking of getting one. But like he says 60 mph and a curb and its all over, you might want to start with something you can learn with then bulid it up to blow the doors off your buddy lol

i dunno but today during my 18tz break in it almost went head first into a brick wall then the tank went empty leaned the engine out and got me off gaurd.... i think the car hit 20 with out me even pressing the throttle

HPi's look a little tougher thou and have cool boy kits but straight out of da box hpi and NTC can the beat the thunder tiger which is also straight our of the box ?

Yeah, the shumacher has a fast car! I believe they have to fastest production stadium truck also with a three speed tranny. The car has the three speed as well. I don't think its legal to race, but it will whoop the crap out of your friend's cars.

Schumacher fusion has no torque. If you're running against a race prepped 1/10 in a short area, you'll get burned. Schumachers need A LOT of room to run fast.

Handling sucks on 4-tecs. They're the muscle cars of r/c, goes fast in a straightline, and that's about it

Go with the ntc3. Trust me, the RS4 3 is a horrible car to mod.

Most 200mm bodies will work with the ntc3. I say "most" because there's always a few that don't work on certain cars.
