New to RC need some help

Hi guys I'm new to RC I no i want to go with a nittro I have been looking into the Traxxas Rustler but sill have not made up my mind yet. most the time i would just be messing around with it but would also like to do some racing when i can find the time and a race would the rustler be a good set up for this or what do you guys think?

both are rear wheel drive. depending on what you want to do, and where you want to drive. you may be interested in a 4wd rig. give us some more info on your plans, and budget and we can help you pick the right rig!

We have a small track here in town so most my time will be spent there or just playing around maybe down the road entering some races

10th scale race? 8th scale? what are others running? if your gonna race you want a rig that is comparable to what everyone else is using.

Yea, I'd go down to the track on one of the race or practice days, and see what class is the most popular (or one that interests you the most) and find out what the requirements are for it. (IE: Nitro/Electric, 1/10-1/8, 2WD/4WD, Stock/Modified, etc..) Once ya have the details you can start your search for the perfect Nitro!! Welcome to the forum!
