Hi all name is Steve, just joined forum. I am getting back into rc cars and airplanes after many year's. I just bought a SkyRc BD250 Discharger and when I set it to stop at say 10.5 volts it will shut down at 11.5 volts, is this normal? anyone else have this unit? Thanks in advance.

sounds like its going into default discharge voltage. are you following sept 3 in operation by pushing button and hearing the beep? I dont use this discharger I do discharging old school way.with light bulb discharger and my lipo guard buzzer,,if you are following step 3 maye try a slightly lower voltage and see where it stops discharge at. like 10.3 see if it stops at 11.3?

Thanks tnt, I think I even went to 9.5 and it shut down after a couple seconds, while the meter still shows holding 11.5. I will check to make sure I'm doing it right..

What are you plugging into it? NiMH, Lipo? How many cells?

Kind of odd, I don't even see 11.5 as one of the minimums in the manual.

11.5v would be a good storage voltage for a 3S lipo (3.83v per cell).
3s lipo's, it just seems like it shuts down before it reaches the voltage I set. I did try a lower discharge rate of 10.0 amps and it seems to get them closer to my set point. Thanks for the reply!

I'm having the exact same issue. I follow the steps and it shuts down seconds after I set it to discharge. Did you have any luck trying to contact them?

I set the discharge rate at 10 amps and about a volt lower than I actually want and that seems to work better. Higher amps didn't work!

Thanks for that. That's a bit disappointing given the high advertised discharge rates drew me to it in the first place. Tried it at 10a and it worked better. Still ended higher than I'd like but started it again at 2a and it stopped very close to the target voltage. Not the end of the world and still faster than the hours of discharging with my main charger that discharges at about 1/2 an amp.

I agree it should work more like advertised but yes, way faster than the regular charger can do!! You just have to play with the settings some!
