Hi, I've always wanted a Nitro RC car and I finally got one, for free, and I don't know much about it. I do know a lot about cars/things with internal combustion engines, but these things are new to me. SOO.

Here's what I know so far..

It's an HPI RS2 ST. It was given to me by my father in law, I don't have the radio control for it yet, he's gotta fish it out of the basement. He said it's missing the brake(s)? I assume it had a brake on or around the flywheel? I was told it runs, I can tell it has compression because it's pretty tough to turn the flywheel and when it finally turns over it has makes a poof sound.

What type of fuel do this use, really? I know they sell it at hobby shops, but does it go straight from the bottle to the gas tank, or do I cut it with something?

Is there a way to start it without the pull start? It's missing, and I know I'll have to buy one eventually.

I guess I have a lot of questions, because I can't find info on this car anywhere, I've seen RS4's all over the place but no RS2's. Any sites I can find info/accessories on/for it?

Thanks for your time.

Either it's really old, or you have the model wrong. I can't seem to find the RS2... Got a photo of it?

This is HPI's instruction site: http://www.hpiracing.com/instructions/

Most run fine on a 20% nitro content fuel. Something like byrons gen2 20%, Trinity MHP 20%, eliminator 20%, blue thunder 20% or o'donnels 20% will work. Not sure what you find at your LHS or if you have one.

Here she is, sorry about the pic quality, they're cell phone shots. Info on this thing is very shoddy. I would like to know what size the motor is too. It's 7 or 8 years old, which to me doesn't matter, I just wanna have fun with it, nothing too serious.

Oh, one more thing, what size car is this 1/10?

yes. It's a 1/10 2wd Stadium Truck (ST). The engine is their old nitrostar 15FE with the upgraded head. It's a single needle carb that generally sucks to run. It's either too lean on the bottom or to lean on the top.

I believe it is also referred to as the "Nitro Rush", which is the predecessor to the 1/10 ST that HPI has called the Firestorm.

This is the manual page for the rush:

Although... the cover does say "Based on the Nitro RS2 ST".

Yeah it looks like the Rush is identical except the chassis is black, mine is purple. Thanks for the info bro, I appreciate it.

But is there a way to start this without a pull start?

Alright. I have a couple of hobby shops around here, I'll have to pick one up.

Does anyone know if the pullstarter for a T-15 will fit? I know the T-15 is the replacement for the 15FE and it's pullstarter looks pretty much the same.

EDIT:Nevermind P/N 1668 for the 15FE has the same P/N for the T-15, they're the exact same. Yay.
