New Spur Gear...

Metal spur gears send a heavy shock load into the tranny internals, causing more expensive and complicated damage. Plastic spurs hold up fine when meshed correctly and with a proper slipper adjustment.

ok.. go ahead and put the $15 one on.. in a month you will be replacing a $75 trans, $30 drive line, or worse.. i hope you got the hardened clutch bell with it, or that will go quick to.

good luck! hope you set the slipper pretty loose.

Plastic spurs hold up fine; even in an E Maxx running 6s. Metal spurs seem like an obvious upgrade until it's realized why they are there in the first place. I'd get my money back and buy 3 stockers that are different sizes. That way you can play with different setups.

Guys, this gear is running perfect. no transmission wear, no clutch wear. its making a smooth slick noise. perfect, against all your expert 'OPINIONS'. its working fine. this car its fitted on is an Ansmann Virus 1/8th RallyCross Buggy.
Not being rude, or dont know if there was a mix up, but i dont know what you were warning me about. sorry guys.

Knowing it was a buggy in the first place would've helped, but I guess we shouldn't have assumed it was a vehicle with a transmission. Glad it's working for ya. Can't wait until your next question...:)

good job mattwadz. you made all us "experts" look like idiots.

Give it a month or so. the plastic spur is designed to be a weak point in the drivline. after some good bashing. you will start seeing results.
