I full on dig it. Not the biggest ford fan in the world even though I own one but I think it looks bad ass. Now to put it up against the viper.
 
I like it.

I also like the 2005 Mustang. Looks kinda like a 70 Boss 402.

Can't beat American Muscle.
 
I saw that car on TLC. Showed how they developed it and everything. As a purist, I don't like what they did ... body wise. Granted it takes it's cues from the original cobra and Carol Shelby signed it off, but in my eyes ... nothing can replace the original AC Cobra.

It's too round ... very feminine looking. Doesn't show the "rawness" that an AC Cobra displays. The V10 is nice but that's about it. I just wonder how long it's going to take to get to production and how much of a mortgage it's gonna be tagged at.
 
I agree with you driver too rounded like one of those audi things.
 
I think the front looks like the rectal exam started unexpectedly. It just has a strange expression of shock and pain.

The difference between that car and the new cobra is that the Series 1 is made in-house at Shelby America. The "New" Cobra is a design paying respect to the original AC Cobra BUT it's made by Ford with the assistance of Carol Shelby in the design concept. Big difference. Carol is out there to make HIS idea of a great car aka race concept but still road worthy. Ford is out there to make a buck.

What's not to love about Classic fords and classis american muscle in general. I've mod'd and driven plenty over the years. My favorite dream car is still a pimped out Cuda but the price is often....OUCH. As for "newer" american muscle. Lets just say that it leaves much to be desired more often then not. Vipers are pretty sweet and especially for the price. Most anything from Pontiac is ass for the most part IME. Everyone and their mother has a mustang or Camaro or VEt (I'm to tall to drive a vet but I'll take a Camaro SS). My favorite car to spank in my RX-7 is by far whatever kind of beefed up pony car. The faster they are the worse they seem to handle..hehe. If I had a dollar for every mod'd pony car that hit the gas hard, Fishtailed and went up a curb I'd be a millionaire.

The rear end of that car looks like a rear end...lol. NO american "exotic" is ever going to gain the general draw of Euor exotic (regardless of quality) but they're more appealing now a days with the mass consciousness of patriotism post 9/11.

allright you faggety ass chevy owners you got to know that the v 10 in it is also in a 2003 mustang that used for testing they were going to put it in the ford gt. they decided the eight so you could modify and put 1500 hp in that 5.4 liter. that engine wont go into production probably and its the same thing with the car if it does itl be 125000 plus first one at auction will go for 500000 or more and then theyll sale for 125000 plus which will leave us true ford guys getting pissed and wondering whats wrong with them. its also almost the same exact body as the series one but a little sharper. it will be manufactured in canada with all the svt vehicles like the lighning. then theyll make a limited run of them and itll sell and 10 yeaRS from now itll be half the price or less. if any of you could argue that try. i know more about fords since i got a classic 2 moderns and some where inbetween one. the motor puts out 600 with a mild tune on the computer and 49lb an hr injectors

forgot to say thT PANOZ IS THE AMERICAN EXOTIC WITH SOME SHOPS BUIKLDING ONE OFF CUTOMS THATLL smoke your rx-7 at anything for the sameprice you put into your car nitroboy
 
Savage - How old are you again....lol. Pull that G-string out of your ass junior. I'd be suprised if you even had a license. I've driven in many cars that you only dream of sitting in wanker. I think I expressed my thoughts on the manner in a relatively subjective way...lol.

A PAnoz....it will spank my RX-7?? All it takes in an hour in the shop to make it fast enough off the line to whip your little neck back heard enough to cause spine damage. You get the Panoz and drive it down here. I'll pay for your room at any hotel of your choice junior and we'll take it to the drag strip. If staight line racing isn't your bag then I can make arrangments @ most of the bigger Texas raceways.

i never said that i had a panoz i said it was americas exoctic car and i have driven many cars and probaly some that you havnt but youve probably driven some that i havnt and i like the rx-7 too you also got a good year for it i also have raced with a bunch cars too

also before i forgete i cold kick ur ass in a 72-03 lotus or catterham super 7

I haven't driven a Panoz but I've driven most every other american car worth talking about. Their's always a faster car in straight line racing.....period ANyone that thinks their car is the king will feel like a queen WHEN they get their arse served to them in a drag race. For the price, I've never experienced so much power, handling and overall good looks as I have with my heavily mod'd RX-7.

FYI....the only thing on the street that's beat me is various non street legal muscle cars running insane amounts of power and ONE nasty fast Toy Supra with 900HP@ the wheels. I use to own a Supra and loved it but twas less then impressive on the track. Supra's are AWESOME tuner cars like the third gen RX-7.

EDIT - Sportscars are like opinions and opinions are like assholes...........

I agree with you 30%.

My stance is in favor for ricers and muscle.

for imports
1. I like the high revs
2. Front wheel drive
3. Light weight body's

for muscle
1. Big engines =lots of torque and power
2. The sound nothing like a big V8 with flowmasters crusing buy
3. The body style's I just like the lines and curves

Anti imports
1. Annoying exhaust
2. Ugly body kits that people never paint to match
3. Small engines you have to do alot to equal the ammount HP that a V8 can put out


Anti muscle
1. Heavy bodys
2. 3 to 4 gears how can you open up a car with 3 or 4 gears?

Thats my opinion dont take it into offense.

Hey Kornkid......I totally agree with ya and will add some genralized thoughts. Then I need to go attend to my wife.

Japanese Import Pro's

Overall reliability from great comanies like Honda, Toyota and SUbaru
Massive Aftermarket suport from Local and International compaines with well engineered products often.
Well designed factory boost'd engines often.
WEll designed factory suspensions often
Rear wheel drive avaliability often, all wheel drive and front wheel drive.
Can get a car that does 0-60 in 5 seconds flat and still gets 25+miles to the gallon.

Jap IMport cons
Lack of weight ='s lack of safety. All the airbags in the world aren't gonna save you if your doing 150mph and get in a wreck in a car with no true structural integrity.
AFter market parts can be expensive as hell and especially from well known Jap tuners. Mugen and MazdaSpeed would be great examples of great compaines with overpriced products for americans with more money then sense
Low Displacment engines can often offer great mid and top end power but ALWAYS lacks low end torque. The awesome Honda S200 engine would be a good example.
Questionable looks in offerings of past and present
All the chit in the world isn't gonig to make your 1.8L 4cly honda engine worth the money you've invested
Most 4ycl's sound like ass with even the best header and exhaust on the planet.
Blow off noise from turbos is nice but doesn't compensate for the above exhaust note...lol.
Metal "GT" style wings look great on real race cars but look like chit on most daily drivers
Those multi teired wings also look like ass. Not many cars other then the Toyota Supra look good with a "high" wing type spoiler
Everybody and their mother has a Euro car that desperately needs to be put to sleep..lol. All the bondo and unfinished body kits in the world aren't going to make your car any faster..lol. Even if your body looks sweet.....c the above remarks in regard to exhaust....lol. That blowback sound gives me a headache. My wife says it sounds like a "long fart".

Hey FLyingRazor....nice vet but "been their....done that". You'd think that the Japs engineerd the Vet as it's the most uncomfortable car on the planet. DOn't get me wrong, sportscars aren't suppose to be comfortable per say. The C5 vets remind me of the new embaressmet to BMW...the Z4. I'm only 6'1" and the windshield sits about @ my chin..lol. I was racing a Z06 one time that went right into the wall......big fat ass dude that could barely fit in his 80K vet. The guy felt like an ass but I don't blame him. The Z06 is awesome but not for the price. I'll take a BMW M5.

ya my friend has a Z06 I can barley fit in it. I like it tho we got it going pretty fast before, but its a hard top so like you said 30% your 6'1'' and so am I and well its kind of hard o fit in it. The price well both him and his parents work for intel his dads the manager of the intel here in Oregon his mom is like vice president of it I think and he is just a worker and he is spoiled to heck and back so he could afford it no problem. But he did have the back end taken off lol cost him a pretty penny to fix it too.

I ll take a M3 anyday M3's rule
