RC Driving Style
Hi guy's, by this summer I might get a new radio and it seems that the jrsx3 is all the rage. I know this is a stupid question but what makes it so much better than the stock savage radio? I'm better at wrenching than driving. Will this help me out alot or not?( I'm not that bad at driving just looking for some help) Is this radio worth $240 bucks? Thanks for your input.

Computer radios are always better, wspecially if it has frequency synthesis. Synth radios have all the channels and being on the same freq as someone else is no longer an issue. The programability of a computer is the ticket to really dialing in the feel on the radio. You're running a Picco 26, does yours have a strange throttle response curve? Mine did, but with the computer, dial in some expo, or play with the throttle curve, and you'll end up with a more linear throttle response on the trigger. Tired of fiddling with the dual rate knob, put in a ton of expo on the steering to mush out center and you have nice smooth center area response for high speed, but crank it all the way and the wheels go all the way, not some percentage based on the D/R knob. Trust me, once you play with a good radio, you'll never go back.

Pee Wee I too am looking for a new radio. You may want to take a look at the february 2004 edition of Rccaraction. It has a radio shootout with all five of the top competitors. I think the JR radio you mention is quite the rage because you get a lot of features for a great price. Read the article you will see what I mean.
