i have just put in a new speed controller and engine, man now my car is fast but i have one problem the car can't go nearly as far as with my original speed controller and engine. Is this normal and how can i fix it?

What esc and motor were you running before?

What are you running now?

before it was the original tamiya esc (TEU-101BK) and engine (don't now name)
and now i'm running lrp AI runner series esc and lrp touring car special 18 turns engine

Without knowing what motor you were running, there is no way to determine if it has lower turns than the 18 turn you are now running.

I would set the EPA on the transmitter to maximum on both the throttle and brake/reverse settings and then reprogram the ESC. This way you will know it isn’t your transmitter causing it to be slower.

I think he meant range of the Tx is shorter......

sounds like a good reason to upgrade to 2.4Ghz setup.....LOL.....always looking for a reason to spend money and boost the economy right....

EPA is your End Point adjustment......your radio can limit how much range of motion your throttle or steering servos can go......

If you are running an AM stock radio then you probably can't do it.......what's your electronics setup: radio and servos

How old are your transmitter batteries? could just be that its time for new batteries..or your new esc and motor combo are not giving your receiver enough juice there by giving you shorter range or both, if it's on the receiver side you could add a 6 volt receiver pack, also do you have all of the compacitors installed that came with the esc/motor combo? just some ideas..
