Learned new paint trick from a auto body tech buddy. Can use some
Self Etching primer. Clean with some alcohol. Then prime 2-3 coats. A little sanding 220grt. And above. And then just paint any color you what. Then clear coat. Works wonders..I change the red kra8 motor mount to BLUE of course 😉haha..

Great. Another thing I "need" thats gonna drain my wallet.

Great timing. My rs4 is purple and has orange arm braces. Guess its time we correct that bad behavior.

Your motor mount looks great.

Color me curious, I wonder how it would go with an annodize colored paint. 🤔

Seems like you love the colour blue?

It's not just blue. It is a specific shade of blue that everything has to be. Gotta love the commitment! But his Kraton looks absolutely sick!

So which is better the etching paint or powder coating?

In automotive I guess that's why they have to re-drill out holes and chase threads. I've seen etching primer done on cars just out of being sandblasted, good way to control rust. I've also seen powder coating done in the kitchen oven!

Yeah, there are powder coating kits for the home hobbyist. But it really stinks up your house!

I was always told that once you use an oven for powder coating you shouldn't use it for cooking food again.
Yeah, that's probably very true. I have never messed with it, but a friend coated some of his car parts in his oven. He never was quite right anyway, so not sure if using the oven affected him afterwards 😉

We all go a lil crazy sometimes. 🙈🙉🙊
Truth be told, were all not right, just on different levels.

The etching primer is a much easier way then powder coating. And cleaner. In my opinion and works well. It's all about prep
