The main thing is the plastic housing is made out of a new compound that more heat resistant to make em easier to solder and they've got some kind of new coating on the blades that makes them more conductive. The males are supposed to be gold and the females silver I think he said. That's why the knock offs don't handle current as well cuz they use cheap materials. That's why the real ones are so much more expensive. We'll see.

Real rc people just solder the battery to the esc. Connectors are for newbs.

I have never seen anyone solder a battery to an ESC. You should never leave a LiPo connected to your car anyway. It will drain it, even with the car off.

This is good to hear. I have definitely melted a couple of Dean's plugs in the past by overheating with a soldering iron. Might try them again but have been digging the xt60s on everything now.
