Rival's a veteran now. Took her out and scattered dirt clods along the bayou today. Managed to put her on her lid a couple of times. Decided to tag her with the name 'Emilia'. From the Latin/Germanic meaning 'rival'.
A bit of old business here, e.g., revisiting the change to flanged aluminum wheel nuts. Bad idea. After hammering the clods for a full pack, had a devil of a time loosening the wheel nuts on the left side. Really concerned they weren't coming off. Replaced them with a full set of 3mm steel flanged nuts from the pit box. Also slathered never-seize on the axle threads. Still not going back to the serrated nuts AE provided with the Rival. Its the hard-headed German in me.
AE's XP120 Radio System is good for what it does, but lacks the ability to slow down the steering. Steering is really, really quick. Adjusting the D/R knob limits the EPA, not the speed. Got a DX4C system waiting in the wings for install at the 10-bash Q maintenance check. Hopefully that will tame the steering speed issue without compromising EPA.
Great fun. Even Susie (our dog) got in on the fun. Cheers. 'AC'
