yeah that wing support is going to be the first thing to break on a backflip half done. what about those bulky upper A-arms? I went to the site linked and I think we will need a translator! Oui Oui!Si Vous Plait.

Merci

sorry but that car is sick as hell from an engineering stand point. ,
that front upper arm is beefier than the K3 plus it has more support behind the arm for a jolt and to stay in place, the double bolt behind the knuckle looks like it takes different arms so you can change how your steering reacts with center point adjustability,, different lengths on the outer hub, thats bad-ass.
and that much beef up front with what looks like different upper/inner link adustability, I don't know how about you, but I'm in the middle of getting a K3 or a Mugen, and thats one of the biggest factors , front end adjustability with beef enough to hold up to motocross tracks like hemet and san jose.. I'd take the scorpion with no Q's right now..
I do alot of paint for different drivers/manufacturers and we shoot the poop about cars, right now I grill em all about reliability . adjustability/length of time on replacing/maintaining the car at a competitive level, and both have flaws and pluszzz ... .
from the looks of things I'd take the scorpion.
The fact that the suspension rides on balls vs hinge pins,, have you everseen one of the smoothest cars out there the SMP slide? same dillie, but SMP's gig sucks, this looks tight, large balls on adjustable length beef-ass rods ,, it's like combining the SMP slide suspension,, adding in the versatility of a TRINITY front end over an old stock associated 10L,, and putting it on a 1/8th buggy...
F*K'N 'a' ,, now thats some forward thought right there..
with the rear end set up like that ,, you can actually USE that 100 dollar hudy... and with 1/2mm 1/4mm and 1mm shims get what kind of front and rear kick / anti-squat you want with 4 screw ease? thats insane!!! soo frigin adjustable ,, not a track you couldnt go to and DIAL and I mean DIAL it in to perfection..

double lay down servos , where else have you seen that?
exactly..
It looks like the front end has more adjustability with front arm angle/caster reactive caster to (if you look at the front top view) adjustable caster at the base with fine tuning on the shims,, no one else even comes close...
Also looks like there 4+ holes up DEEP in the ackerman adjustment area,, thats real nice for setting up large/small tracks anyone else have that much adjustability with the outer link replacement/innerlink ackerman ? hell no..

I dont know,, but just from looking at how far you could take that car one way or the other,, I'd have to say thanks humbolt, I think I'm goin to the french-fries for my nextt rig...

como vous~apele vous ,, thats right your daddy ,, *haha*

I agree with Will. It looks to be very strong from an engineering standpoint.

There are still sharpie marks and raw cuts on the chassis, so it looks to still be in development... I can't wait to see this car hit the market.

I have to take Hirez side on this guys, his points are way valid and you might be a little hasty in your judgement. Things change and evolve keep an open mind.

I agree with HIREz. The only thing that I would worry about is the wing mount. I wonder if it is flexible enough to take a pounding yet still retain it's shape, don't want a wing giving you better left turns than right turns.

Hi

Remember it's only a prototype... so i guess we'll see some changes.
Basically it's based on the Laro Diablo (french champion Philippe Lachat's car, before Laro closed). Most all plastic parts come from the Laro machines that DCM bought; on the Diablo these parts were bulletproof!
This is the second DCM 4x4 buggy (they have some 4x2 too). This one looks very cool... We will see the results (and reliability) during the next races in France.

I suppose that as long as the wing mount isn't REALLY flimsy, it would be fine..

We break them on our two-support wings all the time, this way you won't have to replace one of them if you break it!

I guess that the wing mounts will change : the one you see on the prototype comes from the 4x2 buggy. I don't think such a think would be so efficient for 4x4.

It's kind of hmm, oh, ahh, cool idea, yeah like it, not sure - but one things for sure, I expect to hear more about this beaut.

Some designers CAN think outside the box, some people have positive mental atitudes and would rather go down the "I think this might work, but I'll try" path rather than the "ha, that'll never work, what a waster" negative path

Stop jumping straight in with both feet, mouth wide open shouting "NO!!!"
