Need some info please

I posted a thread in the nitro engine section but no one replied. I hope someone can help me here. I got a mugen mtx 2 about a month ago and it has a Rossi R12 pixy engine in it. I am curious if anyone can tell me how good of a engine this is. I try to start it with the box I have but I have to take a screw driver to the flywheel to loosen it up to be able to start it. I haad it started once but didnt run it. I was told that it still needs broken in, ran about 4 more times. All I have is the box with no directions. Can someone help me out on this matter if possible. Thanks

Lots of compression. If it's still a new engine, loosen up the glowplug and then start it. After it's started, tighten the plug back up and you should be good to go. Mine did the same thing. Wouldn't start and would make the flywheel so tight. Rossi's a good engine

If it's the R12, Gold oval heatsink, 3 port 1.65hp and 37,000 rpms. It's pretty light too.

Actually Mugen it is the Silver oval heatsink motor. On the box it has both pictured, but it is the Silver.

Yeah. Black case, silver head. Same thing. My brother has that on his GSVision. The only thing you need to know is that the sleeve is tapered a little, so after you run it, put the piston and dead bottom by either turning the flywheel or take the plug out and push the piston down to the bottom. With the heat after the engine has finished running, you'll put a risk of making a notch sort of where ever the piston top is. If it's not, you'll start to loose compression because the piston doesn't get to travel all the way back up because of that indention. So I've heard. Just a little maintenance tip. If it doesn't hurt anything, oh well, but just to be safe.

No problem. I didn't make it down to the engine yet, so i would have responded to you once I got there. Did your mugen come with the pixy? It shouldn't have unless it's used. It should come with the MT12

I am lost when you ask me if it came with the pixy. All I can tell you is that it is the black case silver head engine. It is just like the box you posted. If you can help me out a little more I would appreciate it.

Sitting here reading your post again, I understand. I dont know if it did or not. I got it used and this is the motor that came with it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. This should be a good motor for this type car right?

Did you buy the MTX new or off someone? I do believe that is an outlaw engine which means it's not legal for ROAR racing events. Not sure, but you can check if you end up deciding to race. What I suggest is that you get the optional gearing for the MTX. I've got all the different gear options for different types of tracks. I can't remember what they are, but when I get back home this weekend, I'll take a look at what those gears are. They make a lot of difference. The MTX is an excellent handling car. You made a good choice. That's my favorite on-road car I have.

one more question Mugen, where the steering hooks up to the servo, the steering arms are hitting the 2 screws that mount the servo. I dont have a screw in the servo saver, but when i di when i go to tighten it up those screws keep it from turning. Any help. It has a aftermarket purple screw kit on it if that helps.

Hmmm.. not quite sure exactly. Is the screws coming up from the bottom? The servo should be mounted from the bottom side of the top plate.

The servo is mounted from the bottom. As I am looking at it, it looks like there is spacers on all four screw that hold the servo. can't really tell though. It has a Junior r 135 reciever, a hitec hs 545bb throttle servo, but the factory mugen seiki steering servo. Well i will take it apart and see what is up with those spacers. It looks like they might be part of the servo, but hell I will take it apart. Thanks for your knowledge, it is greatly appreciated.

the steering servo is a hitec hs 5625 mg servo, it just had a mugen sticker on it.
