Okay guys, I am going to pick up my Losi 8ight t 2.0 rtr next week. What all should I buy besides the truck itself. I have heard of servos and shock caps, is there anything else i should be looking in to? anyhelp would be great.

If it's truly a RTR, then all you should need to get going are batteries, fuel and a glo ignitor. Most RTR's come with radio, servos, etc. Best thing to do is ask the clerk at the shop you're getting it at, if they're reputable, they'll point you in the right direction.

Fuel (20% is the standard)
Extra glow plugs
Metal geared servos are good to have on hand to replace the weak plastic ones
Rechargeable batts are good to have
make sure you have a failsafe on your radio sys

Hope this helps

Mountain Dew runs the driver, nitro will do for the r/c :p: If its rtr, then it is rtr, if i were you and wanted to get extra's just.n.case, i would get little things you may need, batteries, fuel, glow plugs, maybe some washers for good luck, and caffeine to keep the brain going until the r/c takes over :p:

I agree with Monkey Wrench. If it's a true RTR, all you will need is fuel a couple of extra glow plugs, glow plug ingnitor and batteries for the radio.

okay guys, thanks...can u all think or any spare parts i would for the truck, stuff i may break?

Why would you suggest he go and drop serious money on metal-geared servos right off the bat? Yes, I've had servos fail, but usually because something was binding, not because the gears were plastic!

Additionally, you do not NEED a failsafe on your radio, it's a nice option to get down the road, especially if you start racing. Besides, the LOSI 8.0 RTR comes with a Spektrum system, one of the top radios on the market. Both of my Spektrum's came with failsafe's already and the DX2 does as well, just have to set it.

Front bumper
camber and toe adjusters (If your car has them)

Really? You're suggesting to this guy a bumper and camber/toe adjusters? I've been running these little rigs for close to 15 years now. Buggies, truggies, monster trucks and on-road (even have a boat and a plane). I've never broken a camber/toe adjustor and if I've broken a bumper, it wasn't integral to the R/C still running. Be practical with the man, for crying-out-loud!

Here's what I suggest:
Front Suspension Arm Set
Front Susp. Arm Bushings.
Front Spindles
Front Spindle Carriers
Rear Suspension Arms
Rear Hub Carriers

Here's a link to the LOSI 8.0 RTR guides and parts manuals. May want to look them over and come up with a list of extras for yourself. The parts I am suggesting are OPTIONAL; you don't REQUIRE them to get going. What you do need to get going are batteries, fuel, and I would get additional plugs because you will crush one or two during the break0in process.

Good luck! The LOSI is a very good rig! You'll have a blast with it! :D

on my second run on my car, I found a patch of ice that sent me diagonally into a wall. this broke off the adjusters AND the front bumper.

ALSO My throttle servo stripped out after about a half gal had been run through, this was probably partially my fault for not having the end point set just right, but it's easy to do.

We'll encourage him to do the right thing by not breaking in his top of the line rig in the cold. Being it's the fastest way to ruin a new engine.

Being you dont want a buch of parts laying around you dont need what awhile till you start breaking stuff then start stocking up usally it gona be drivetrain parts but that depends alot on your driving habits.Good luck with your new rig!:D

Thank you guys, as sonn as i get some pics up i will post. The temp here is stay around 40 for the past few days, how warm should it be b4 i break this in?

At least 60* otherwise you tend to damage the pinch of the cylinder and sleeve.
