I have a t-maxx 2.5 and I recently bought the 5cell hump pack
, the switch for it and a charger, I wired the switch to the reciever and the hump pack, my battery box has the slot for a charging port so I put the female jack coming off the switch in the charging slot.....when I plug my charger into it my charger blinks saying the input voltage is out of range....could it be the charger...it's a onyx 100 from a LHS

You need to turn off the switch to send the charge to the battery.

EDIT:
is there one lead on each side of the switch, or does one side have 2 separate leads and one lead on the other side?

It has the short lead to go to the charging port one that goes to the radio and one that goes to the battery. I did have it off but the charger was blinking 3 times, from what the charging book says the input is out if the voltage range but I has it plugged in the wall

It should have 2 larger plugs that the smaller ones go into.
The proper wiring sequence is the side with 2 plugs should have a large one for charging. The receiver should plug into the switch line and then go through the switch to the battery connector.

Try that, and also try plugging your charger directly into the loose lead rather than into the port. That way you'll know you've made all the proper connections if it works.
