OK I just traded my crawler for a tmaxx 2.5 and pretty much what can be done to these trucks for speed and performance? Has stock everything except for a few aluminum parts(bulkheads, skid plates.)my question is what are some good performance parts for speed and power?

Depending on your lever of competency with nitro rigs theres some options for you. Going with a bigblock motor and ECRM exhaust will give more power but you will need to upgrade the rest of the driveline to support the power. You can regear to a smaller spurgear and larger clutchbell first as that is the cheapest option to start with and it will give you more speed but you may sacrifice some lowend power.

no doubt phins fan is right about the big block and ercm pipe I'm in the process off building my maxx up to a big block right now its just a slow process for me due to money but when i finish ill have a reliable big block truck.

So far I've done rpm arms all the way around along with rpm bulks, brushless diffs, flm shock towers, ofna lx one shocks and a spring kit(4 shock conversion), aluminum skids that are chopped along with rpm skid covers. and will be adding a BB chassis 3.3 spec tranny, robinson racing tranny gear set, trx cvd's, and hpi dog bones for center

My competency on these trucks isn't high at all but a good exhaust is in near future. The other thing I'm looking at is a supercharger but can't find anyone that has had good luck or is even running it in there rig. Does it work or is it an I have this add on?

Haha dont forget nos!!
Seriously dont waste ya time , want it to go faster, get a bigger engine.force has a new .28 that is supposed to be a bolt in affair with the matching mount

Stay away from the following garbage:

Turbos and superchargers
NOS boosts
Team Integy parts except their clutchs
Aluminim arms, shock towers, bumpers and body posts or anything that can take a.direct blow.
K&N style air filters, like the ones you see on cars.

+1 that's some good advice right there.

I was just wandering on the superchargers. What's a good exhaust for these motors? And another thing is I think mine would be faster if it would change gears. It does after a while but how can I lower the shift point? Also I went with aluminum bulkheads and skid plates b/c I broke a bulkhead and skid plate 30mins into it being installed

they make the super chargers appear to work and sound good but they dont they are just "pretty". I watched a video of a revo and t maxx drag racing the revo with a supercharged 3.3 and the maxx with a normal 3.3 and the t maxx won all three times. same goes with other videos also thats jjust the one that stood out to me. If you want to lower the shift point heres a link

Tell him why!

The supercharger forces air into a combustion chamber that doesn't have closing valves...no valves no compressed air/charged air, it just gets forced out the stinger of the pipe.
Our little R/C engines use the pipes back pressure to aid in the combustion process, essentially the pipe forces the partially escaping fuel/air mixture back into the engine combustion chamber/where the piston strokes so it can be burnt.

^^extra air increase heat, over 250F is getting bad!. Forcing you fuel/air mixture out of the stinger can cause there to be not enough fuel/oil to keep the engine lubed up, also it'll eat up a gallon of fuel since you'll be richening up to catch an ever climbing engine temp!
I'm sure I missed something, someone else will chime in....unless there's a dozen threads on it already.

if your going to stick with the 2.5 for a bit I would suggest getting a motorsaver airfilter and a ths sb exhaust system and go from there

Best quick upgrades, the fore mentioned motorsaver filter, the 3.3 pipe(ebay,$27 shipped), Integy shock spring kit(nothing else Integy makes is worth your money), aluminum chassis braces are a good choice, & RPM arms & wear plates.

Tune it first before fooling with the shift point, if it still won't shift once tuned well then adjust the shift point.
