OK, I bought this brand new so I go to do the engine break-in but I can't get the darn thing to start! I have not messed with the settings, just leaving them as it came but it will not start. I have tried changing the glow plug, put fresh batteries in the glow plug ignitor, fresh fuel, new batteries, etc. It started twice for like two second then cut off and now will just not start. This is very aggravating because I want to break it in so I can take it out and play with it..
Temps here lately have been in the high 60's to low 70's.
Please help me get this thing to start!
Thanks.

Is this your first RC? If so, you may not be priming it properly. Put your finger over the exhaust and hit the rotostart for a second. Watch the fuel go through the lines. When the fuel reaches the carb, take your finger off the pipe and put the heater on the plug. Let the heater sit for a few seconds to get it good and hot, then apply a little throttle as you hit the roto-start again.

You may want to check your manual and reset the HSN and LSN to their "stock" settings. I've received engines that are so rich that they won't start. I've also received one where the HSN was screwed all the way in and no fuel could get into the engine.

No, it's actually my 5th nitro. two t-maxx 2.5's, one savage 21, and one original xtm mammoth. i bought them all brand new.
I will try setting everything to original factory settings as stated in owners manual. Fuel tank has a primer button on it, fuel is definitely flowing, much of it coming out through exhaust pipe. So maybe it's too rich? But it is suppose to be for the break-in if I'm not mistaken.
Never had this problem with any of my other trucks, at least not with the break-in process.

Well it turns out that the reason I could not get it to start is that my LSN was set too rich by about 1.5-2 turns. I reset it to factory settings and it started right up. Finally! Went through 1 tank of gas at idle, will do another this weekend then on to some fine tuning so I can do some bashing.

Very much so! I ran upstairs and told the wife right away, not that she even cares but I just had to tell someone because I was so excited that it finally started!

I don't know what it is with Losi and setting their carbs so rich. When I first got my LST it would fire up but it was so rich it would just bog down and not move when I hit the trigger. Like you, I had to lean 'er out a turn before she would respond...

i know the feeling - when i got my jato (my first nitro)i had the same problem, she wouldnt start for anything.... but hey you're up and running now :-) on with the fun!
