Hey all , I have an earthquake 3.5 and am having trouble getting it running. I can get it to start if I hold the trigger down and let it run at a very high idle speed , but as soon as I let the trigger go and slow the engine down it dies !! I have noticed that if I don't have the throttle open at least half way it will not suck any fuel to the carb !! Any help would be much appreciated !!!

Id check your carb gap first...pull off your air filter and see if theres atleast a 1mm gap in it..if not adjust your idle screw accordingly..might want to check your throttle trim on your transmitter as well.

BTW check this thread out it will show you how your carb gap should look and has some good general info in it

Thanks frosty that did help , I have managed to get it running and idling but as soon as I take out the glow plug ignitor it dies ??? Any suggestions ??

Change glo plug, it maybe fouled out...sounds like your running a little rich..Turn your lsn clockwise to lean it out...very very little though maybe like half hour increments like if u are looking at a clock and the hour hand
Glad I could be of help I'm a noob myself only a month into fooling with nitros myself

Half hour turns would be WAY too much. Think of a clock and the tick of the minute hand--you want to make your adjustment in "one minute" increments.

Yeah your right....if u have steady hands and good eyes..lol
I was thinkin of the hsn... Yeah I'm a scatter brain...

BTW rolex's tuning guide states this...

you'll need to start leaning the LSN by no more than 1/16 turn at a time, and test it several times before you lean it any more.

Your talking 1/60th turns...near to imposible imo..

The glow plug is still good if you can get it running, my Revo does that but I turned out my throttle a tad and fixed it. If the plug is fouled, it wont even turn over.

Let me clarify: by "one minute" I don't mean one minute. Think of the numbers on the clock. So I guess I mean one hour at a time. Now I'm confused...

Course I've only been up eighteen hours. Or is that minutes?

Thanks for all the help. I discovered my head button is no good (threads are screwed) anyone know where I can get one ? The engine is an SH .21

In the line you showed above, 1/16 of a turn only gives you 16 positions, not 60.
Using the clock method of one hour, you have 12 positions. Either way, small adjustments.

We'll forgive the guy using the minute hand. :p:
Only make your LSN adjustments when the engine has warmed up.
