Today i got these two complete nitro trucks and a heap of nitro stuff dirt cheap, any idea what model trucks these are? They have a vertex 18 engine.

I know a few of the "off brand" rc clone companies use that brand of engine. Like smartecc, redcat... and I'm sure others.

I've never seen one like that though. The closest I had seen was a solid axle rig made by XTM, but theirs had more alloy on it.

Okay i figured they were a cheap clone of something. Do you think i will still b able to get front and back differentials for it? What should i look for?

you think those could be something someone had built out of a few different parts??? def. not redcat I know that much..

As far as i can tell they are the exact same one. One of them is just in pieces, like alot of pieces haha and the two transmitors i got with them are both say Am2 proportional transmiter. Aparently the dif's broke when changing into second gear. Going to investigate some more tomorow.

IMO it looks redcat because the crawlers setup looks simaler with shocks and axle gaurds, but dont quote me because thos look hella old school

Okay thanxs hpi killer I'm just looking for opinions so i have somewere to start part wise. Heres another pic for reference.

it almost looks like a sideward mount revo shock system.. it is similar to red cat but it is really hard to tell it has carecteristics from a few diferent companys..

XTM made the x-factor that was like that with the pivot for the shocks:

But I know I've seen a rig with plastic swing arms like yours... I just can't place it. That engine screams knock off though. So, whatever it is, it's not a "name brand" (i.e. xtm, traxxas, hpi, kyosho, tamiya...) rig.

Found the one I was thinking of, but it's not yours, kyosho mad force:

Speaking of which, I can't imagine driving that thing... 3 speed, solid axle, big block... would be one squirrelly rig at full tilt!!

Haha thanxs olds97 i can't imagine driving it either lol thats probly why the previous owner owner went through like 3 differentials lol!
