I've got .21 engine using OS #8 plug on a buggy and the temp here is around 100 celcius with high humidity. I've been running the engine at 150 celcius. I've tried to richen the HSN and the engine would just has no punch and sometimes dies on fast take off. I've tried running it lean then richen the HSN little by little and got the temp down to 121 celcius then the engine would lose the punch or dies on fast throttle. Any ideas!

Do you live on the sun? 100* celcius is 212*farenheit! LOL ....

Anyway, you didn't say what percentage fuel but in this case, it really won't matter. You will need to go to a hotter plug. I know that the A3 is considered a hot plug but in a high humidity situation, it will be needed for an efficient combustion.

sorry, it's 40 celcius

Thanks I'll try the plug. By the way, I was using Byron 20% race. Would that make any difference.

You're fine with the 20% byrons. it's when you use 30% that you might have issues with the engine and using a hotter plug ... sometimes, not all the time. Which .21 are you using for your buggy?

Brat Engine. I don't know if they are still around. It seems like my clutch slips too. But I run without body. Would the slipping clutch can cause the heat too?

well my motor was runing lean ... when i was runing 20% byrons ... i swithed to traxxas 20... and then it ran good..

I just cracked the engine. It had a leak some where around the headsink connect to body. I think I couldn't bring the heat down cuased by the leak. Does this sound right?

Further question on Tuning, if I set all needles at factory set, I would not get the temp at 200f (no matter how long I run), so I lean the HSN little by little until I get around 210f. Ran just fine the whole tank (LSN seems abit too rich, but I can't reach it easy enough so I just left it as it was). Then I needed to refuel and started it up again. It ran even better right from the start but after 2 minute ran I checked the temp it got to 285f. There were only 8-9 tanks thru this engine (OS.21). I think I had break-in well enough. What can cuase this?
