I was set to donate a couple mill, but then your website asked me for a password.

Ah well.

Seriously, it sounds like you are begging for cash. Even the name of the website is iffy "sponsormyrctruck." Note - not sponsormyrctrack

You were thinking? Now what are you going to do for the rest of the week?

Monkey Wrench?! The "voice of reason"?!?!?! Those are two things I never thought I'd live to see in the same sentence.

POW" BANG" "WHOOSH"
Two oxymoron's in a row...Keep'em coming guys

Listen, if you want to get a track started. Go to your local churches, hobby shops, and ymca, and see if they will help you get one started. If it gives kids something to do and takes them off of the streets, the city is usually inclined to help. Look at all the skateparks that have started, all that happened was some kids got together and asked the community for support. now tax dollars pay for their hobby.

This way works much better than asking people from outside of your community (even though they have a common cause) for money. This just makes you look greedy.

Hi [email protected],

Thank you for the nasty PMs. If I had any left over chump change to give you I'd throw it away before giving it to random "fellow rc racer" who is begging for money. You want some help? Here are some questions that you need to answer when asking for a handout. Answer these and I'll consider throwing you a buck.

Do you have a location picked for the track you plan on building? Will it be purchased, leased, or it going to be located behind your Uncle Ned's Chicken Coop/Sex Shack? Is there a water and electricity source?

Who will be building and maintaining the track? Will they be paid or volunteers? What will you charge for track use including practice and race days?

How much yearly liability insurance will you need to carry?

Have you looked into the cost of a transponder setup?

What is the track layout going to look like along with the driver's stand and pit lane?

How many corporate sponsors/local merchants, celebrities etc etc have you spoken to about your track idea? hint These are the guys you really want to be targeting for capital.

These questions are just scratching the surface. Figure out the answers and come up with a business model. It is easier to raise money with a solid business plan in hand. People will be more willing to contribute to your cause if they know you have done your homework. You come onto RCNT and ask for a handout without any real thought to the process involved, don't be surprised to get kicked in the nuts.

Also, I'd shift the whole "I want to build a track because I have to drive too far waaa...waaa...waaaa" to something like "I want to build an R/C track because my community lacks a recreational location for both youth and adults to enjoy the hobby and sport of radio controlled vehicles. Racing RCs has been known to keep youth off the streets, increase testing scores, decrease teen pregnancy rates, help people kick their crack habits,....etc etc."

Good luck.

Why am i still addicted to crack then! and pregnant...

sweetdiesel is right though, you need to go to the local people first...

You have to look at it as a business. research on the internet how to write a proper business plan. This will give you all the information that everyone is talking about. Also, find out as much information from the owners of other tracks what they had to do, how they overcame obsticles, what issues they had with zoning, etc... If you have a true business plan and have everything worked out, other people may be willing to give you money. It shows that you have invested in the project (mostly time at that point).

What you are currently doing is begging for money and people feel bad for beggars but don't want to give them money.

I hope you do get this track started, but you are starting off the wrong way.

David
