Need Carb help

OK so I have a Fantom FR 15 6.0MM carb. The problem I am having with it is that well no matter whether I prime the tank to put fuel in the line or to put my finger over the pipe to build back pressure the carb just won't hold fuel pressure on the inlet line. I am absolutely stupid when it comes to carbs. Guess that's why I am here asking for help. Any thoughts or suggestions would be sweet. Later

You may have a carb issue but I would first look down stream.
See if you have a leak in the fuel line or a bad tank lid seal.

I would remove the entire fuel system and test it in a sink of water. Plug the end of the pressure line with 1 finger, hold everything under water and blow onto the fuel line. If you see bubbles you found your issue. Don't forget to inspect the very end of your lines for splits or holes. To be safe cut 1/8 inch off the end of each.

Hey Ed thanks for your help however when I did switch the carb I used the very same tank. However since I have removed the primer and the fuel line is brand new. I am seriously lost here. This weekend I am going to try to figure this out for sure. I am tired of it not working. Just found an exploded view of the carb this might have been the answer I was looking for. Not sure at all.
 
When you removed the primer, did you pressure check the tank to make certain that you sealed the hole where the primer went?

Next, when you say the carb won't hold fuel pressure to the inlet...do you mean that when the engine is running you see the fuel roll back to the tank? If so, you may be running on the lean side and the overheat of the engine is causing back pressure through the carb.

I run a Fantom engine in my T-Maxx and have not had this problem, but am familiar enough with the symptoms. Can you provide me with some more details? Like when do you have this problem? Is this during the engine's run time, pre-run, or post run? Have you got a temp gun and have you checked the engine's temp while running? I only ask, because Eddy covered some of the obvious stuff...but bad tuning can cause either insufficient pressure to the fuel tank, bad fuel line set up can also provide insufficient pressure (ie the back pressure line is too long or the fuel feed line is too long).

What vehicle is this in?
 
This is in RS43 Type SS. Ok situation has changed a little but only in fantom engines. I had it on a FR15 that carb has now been switched to a FR12 still in the SS. AS far as when it's doing it, it's all pre-run. I was never able to get it started with that carb. I have a brand new in can FR12 that I will most likely install over the next couple of day's in the SS to see what the situation is again. When I last played with it I would give it at least 20 yanks with my finger covering the pipe and fuel would only make it about half way up the fuel line to the inlet of the carbwhere the fuel line would curve up. Only reason I honestly believe it to be the carb is because I had the 12RSS motor in there and pulled it out for the FR15 and it was a straight swap. No other parts were changed. Not the fuel line or tank or anything. I did pick up some fuel line and things so I may just go ahead and change it. Also no I am not running an inline filter on it at all either. Thanks for your help here it is much appreciated.
 
Your problem might be a clogged fuel inlet to the carb. Remove the highspeed needle (carefully) and see if there is anything blocking the socket where the needle was on the card...or try and blow some fuel through the fuel line with it connected to the HSN. If fuel leaves the HSN without it plugged into the carb, then something in the carb body is obstructing the fuel flow.
