For some reason, I had to get a mini maxx. Don’t ask me why, I just felt like we needed another mini m/t in the collection, and after all the crap I have talked about Traxxas, I felt like I should give it a shot to justify what I’ve said in the past about their platforms.
Unlike most of the cars, this one doesn’t have ugly features such as dumb looking wheels and awkward bodies.
So far it’s a pretty solid rig. It wheelies like nobody’s business and drifts quite well on a smooth garage floor. It doesn’t self right and we haven’t pulled off any flips yet, probably because it is only 2s. It does about 30mph I’d say. I love the way it looks. The battery clip is easy peasy, I actually like the clipless body system. It can fit 1/10 scale electronics which is a huge potential. That’s what I do like.
I definitely don’t like the battery plug because I can’t charge it with my good charger and read IR’s. It comes with a dinky balance charger that takes forever, there’s no option to storage charge either. One of the shocks upfront is leaking and both diffs have some seepage around the housing. It also doesn’t come with any lights but they are an optional kit. This should have been included. I also don’t like the $270 price tag I paid for it after taxes. The transmitter is butt ugly. The motor to esc connection is a MT30 connector, which is way too small for 1/10 scale electronics. If an xt60 does 60amps, an xt30 does 30 amps, I would guess the mt30 is only good for 30 amps as well. There’s conductors are probably 14awg. There’s your bottleneck right there. I won’t be keeping the 2s system in for very long, shame on you Traxxas for doing this.
This truck is clearly aimed at new hobbyists with these features. If you didn’t recognize the flaws all you would see was the good, which it does have some good. It’s a lot of fun to drive.
As I go through this thing a little more I will post more pics and continue my review.

♂. I feel if I truly wanna enjoy it and get it to its fullest potential I have to do upgrades. That’s just how I am though, I upgrade almost all my rigs before I actually bash them
