I saw this coming from a few miles away.
So Traxxas will soon offer the 1/16 Slash, a second 1/16 "Mini Slash", and the Latrax Prerunner.

How many variants of the same idea do they need? And what will their excuse be for the inevitable price hike?

goes hand in hand with the 17 monster trucks they have that are all roughly the same size. if they don't take up hobby shop shelf space someone else will. gotta stay visibly dominant ya know.

5 bushings says that the street price will be $279.99, then $299.99 once people start buying them up. and me wondering why they don't just buy the 1/10.
sounds about right. isn't the Arrma like $240? just add the traxxas tax to that (gotta pay for the lawyers somehow). then why not go ahead and gouge the non fanboys who didn't line up and pre order one.

no suspension adjustability and wtf
It's a beginner basher, they wouldn't expect you to tune the suspension like a full blown out race kit. 🤷‍♂️ 🤔
could the inner tire bead be any shorter? that's some shaved foam status right there.
Short Course tires. The inner wheel/tire is larger than the outer. Scale realism. And also industry standard for most SCTs too. 🤷‍♂️

even my POS Dromida's have holes to move the shocks. can't get much more cheap and entry level than those.

i know what short course wheels/tires are like. i do have an SC10 remember. iv always hated that about SCT's. total buzzkill to the scale looks. someone needs to be kicked in the nuts for thinking that was a good idea.

the thought just accrued to me, i wonder if the inner part of the tire is solid. this is going to bug me.

edit. very hard to tell. but i wonder if they copied the funny car. part of the wheel is made to look like tire. use sold rubber or mold in some kind of thin structure the eliminate foams.

yeap. it's bugging me.

Shouldn't be. Unless its a super stiff/firm sidewall or insert. Id imagine it would be pretty soft of a insert/compound though.

Also, I thought you liked Bugs? 🤣 🫠

Heck even the old 2wd Traxxas models had droop and front toe adjustment at the very least. I get that this is "entry level", but I expect an entry level price to match.
they haven't done entry level pricing sense the 90's. $140 RTR rustlers anyone?

Inflation + Shrinkflation = high dollar for a cheap product.
Its traxxas, they ONLY care about the money and sales, nothing else.

Could find used RTR rustys for 140 or less if its used. Tons out there, thats why the resale value isn't good and why they are cheap. That's why I want to keep mine since I know I won't get much back for what I paid into it.
