I have always wanted to get an Associated buggy chassis since my RC10T3, I now have one! (Well, two actually).
I can't race the Associated 40th anniversary buggy, that'll be a shelfer and a later build thread
. In the meantime, I decided to purchase an LT10SW short course truck chassis and convert it to a buggy. I found the chassis on eBay, in really good condition.
I'll need to inspect it and rebuild it. For now, just been working on some test fitments on parts, slowly working on teardown.
I removed all the silly short course bumpers. Ignore those wheels, those were just for fun
Already looks a lot better!
Testing fit of new wheels I bought. I like the look so far. I probably can't race with spoked wheels, so I'll be looking for dished wheels too.
I just got some new body mounts and shock towers for the buggy conversion.
Next steps are to tear down the chassis and inspect all screws, linkages and drivetrain; then I'll build it back up
. I'll update as I tear this thing down.
