Considering it barely fit in my trunk with my carry bag, I thought I'd try to shorten it up a bit. With my limited ability to machine things, I bough the scorpion shorty kit.
After a bit of swearing and banging on things with a hammer, I got it sorted out. Fits better in my bag now and in my trunk. Also seems better proportioned to what it is. Flys just as good, handling is quicker, so all in all, a better rig for me... when I have time that is.
Now to find some taller tires for better ground clearance... and cvd boots that last more than a couple tanks of fuel before giving up.
I did the black mesh thing all over the chassis as the scorpion chassis has cut outs all over (sides/bottom) to lighten it. I asked them if they ever intended on doing a chassis without cutouts, answer was no. So, will either be making aluminum plates to cover things for snow running or see how the screen I put in keeps the snow out when the time comes.
Also thinking of getting a second set of tires/rims like I have on the rear for teh front to give it a more aggressive look and possibly better feel on the landings.
I upgraded the front tower as I busted one of the uprights my last time out. I also bought some tubing to cut the roll bar so I could take the front off without taking more bits off to get the stupid thing off. Seems to be holding up just fine.
Anyway, here are some shots of it:
