Try to route the fuel line away from the header. The black sleeve is a heat shield but it will burn through eventually. Also check to see if the shield is rubbing on something,it may be rubbing through.

Sounds like your having fun and thats great!

If you want to upgrade I think you will want to consider aluminum bulk heads and rpm suspension arms all around.RPM makes a great skid plate set also that bolts over your existing plates and adds a center plate.Oh also lunsford titanium hinge pins. These will all add durability to your Maxx.

Nice to have a lady interested in the hobby!

u still can get the one with reverse?
my lhs only has forward only one...
i want reverse too

You can safely re-route that fuel line away from the exhaust, or replace it with a slightly longer piece. Fuel line is cheap, usually around a buck a foot, and it comes in different colors (a cheap way to add some color).

As long as you don't "kink the hose", you're alright.

Zip tie worked great, thanks guys!!

Fuel tubing is cheap and comes in pretty colors??? Monday morning I'm going to have go get some :) Wouldn't hurt to have some on hand for those just-in-case moments, right???

Nighttalk - I love having reverse on my trucks. I have a tendency to bump into things (damn those trees) and it's a handy little function allowing me to whip myself around and keep it going.
