Here are some pics of my truck. It's a 1/10 scale Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3.

I'm very happy with it, altho' I've got a long way to go with upgrades, driving, and all that fun stuff.

Thanks.

I want to upgrade with blue aluminum, either all of it or most of it, not sure which yet. It'll be an on-going process as I hope to upgrade as I break it (that part won't take too long! haha)

Hey Great looking truck!

did you buy it from new or used?

i've had a drive of the 2.5 and the 3.3 versions of the T-maxx and i saw a really big difference in speed.. so i'm glad you went for the 3.3...

Do you have any other nitro trucks or cars?

Thanx for the piccies!

Good morning...

Thanks, GH.

Racer, I always try to clean it up afterwards. Some Fantastic spray on a paper towel and wipe-wipe-wipe, wallah! :)

Grrrl - This is my first. In one of the pics I have a little Toys R Us electric RC car, but that doesn't count :)
I bought it new from my local hobby store. I was considering another truck that was 2wd, and only maxed out at 25 or 30 mph, so I went with this one. I love having reverse and well, yeah.. I like speed, too :)

Nice looking T-MAXX you got there!

Don't worry about breaking it, if it stays in one piece, that just means that you are not having enough fun with it!

Nice ride, I wouldn't recomend going all aluminum but the F/R bulkheads are a good place to start, you want to have some plastic because it flexes with all aluminum you will end up bending stuff...

i agree with abadk9420 on the aluminum, i have heard that it will also warp when it gets hot.

the truck looks great, but it looks TOO CLEAN !! lol

After doing some homework on the aluminum, I've heard that frequently.. So I guess I'll only aluminize the important parts and nevermind the rest. My LHS has this kick ass truck, 100% blue aluminum frame and I love it. It's $1500, as is why I don't own it, but it just looks so cool, that's what attracted me to the fully aluminum frame. But, I like speed, power and durability, so I don't want to do compromise anything.

Breaking my truck........
Well, tonight I took it out to the library, empty parking lot so had free reign and ran my truck quite rough. I ran into two trees, bottomed out a couple times trying to get a good wheelie going (managed one) and my oldest son crashed it by getting an awesome cyclone going and so much for my dentless truck! Here I am bragging about how I have no dents... now I have two! Both corners in the rear are smooshed in.

Here are some shots after my run tonight, the last of which I have a big question for all you guys and gals......

1.The dents

2.The dirt

The Question:

Last couple of times I ran my truck I noticed that the black shield on my fuel line is melting... Any ideas as to why this is and what I need to do about it to make sure I don't end up melting clear through the fuel line??

Seems like you guys had fun at the parking lot! As for the fuel line, I am not real sure what to say about that.

The parking lot is fun... dirt road, with a soccer field and lots of slight hills to climb and all. Because of all the rain we've been having the dirt was crunchy and offered no grip at all, I was slipping and sliding every where. Quite fun :)

Hmmm, I hope someone has an idea about that fuel line.. it bother me seeing that.

I'm not sure how well that braided nylon withstands heat, but it's sitting on the exhaust header and that will be one of the hottest parts on the car.
1) Do you have a temp gun? Even with a properly tuned engine the exhaust header will be really hot.
2) If you have enough slack in the fuel tubing, take a zip-tie, put it around that body post (I think that's a body post on the left side of the pic) and pull that fuel line away from the motor/header.

i would also try to find a place to zip tie it out of the way, just to be on the safe side. it looks a lot dirtier now !! i am LOVIN it !! just think ... the dents add character.

BTW ... here is my ride after a night at the track (see thread named WOOO !! good times) ...

Now that's a good looking buggy after some laps at the track! That's awesome that you know the owner and practice for free by yourself!
