A facility to run indoor/outdoor tracks would be awesome. I thought it would be cool to have a place to run races here with a small hobby shop front, I would think that would do well.

I don't have any tracks that I know of in here WA east of the Cascades. All I get is gravel canals and desert to run in. :)

That would be amazing! We have a good crowd for onroad and off road carpet here. We have a great hobby shop here for bashers and crawlers.
Right? I figured a place you could hold races, have an indoor dirt track, small crawler course and maybe some outside track. It would probably be foolish, but I bet you'd get some good coin by having RC rentals for the kids. It would help those families that can't spend 200+ on an RC. The problem would be maintaining those cars, but if you could lower the barrier to entry to get families involvdd, I think it would be cool.

Our 'local' track is a nonprofit members track for 1/12 scale on road carpet and 1/10 scale offroad carpet.
They just moved another 20 or so mins away. Its an hour away now. I haven't seen the new spot, nor joined.
Its the idea that I love and why I mention it to you.
Maxximus R/C Raceway on FB if you want to check them out.
It might be an easier way for a group of like-minded folks to find and rent a facility to race at. 👍

That sounds good! Our local club has a place we setup a carpet track either on road or off road once a month so it's not something permanent. Something to look forward too once a month. I'll have to check them out.

Decaded ago I raced in school cafeterias and gyms that got converted with carpet and pvc pipes.
Thats what got me hooked on r/c racing and I've loved it since. Good for you looking to expand on the once a month deal!!! 😎😁

For sure! We use a gym at the local boys and girls club! I'm an 1/8 nitro guy, the carpet is fun but prefer to be outside with the sound of nitro!

I would imagine a person with a driving range and ice cream shop looking to increase business might be interested in some sort of a track idea too. Some place with some land, looking for more traffic. A drive in, bmx tracks or how about a fairgrounds... lots of ideas for this! 😁
Eventually a facility that you can race at would be the goal I think?
Maybe you'll get a few places on board with an idea like this and you all can just tour the countryside, racing! 😎

Thank you for your ideas! I just need to get out and beat the brush and find something. With throwing in the factor of it being something for all ages to do would be a good point to bring up to people!
May I suggest a smaller class for the youngsters? Those 1/8 scale nitros are about the biggest and fastest things we put on tracks with motors and tires that will skin a hand easy. An accident with a child us something I don't want to think about either! 🥺
A 1/14 scale with Groms or even 1/10 scale (to handle the track) like a Gorgon class or stock Slash class. Something accessible to every income level and fun, cheap to repair and safe for kids. ❤️
@DavidB1126 is a younger guy and he races Slash. Theres a bunch of Luke's who are younger and race them too. 🤣
They are an excellent entry vehicle.
I like the Gorgons because they are cheap, tough as nails, slow (sort of) and kids who aren't strictly racing can still go out and enjoy their R/C in the back yard and not worry too much about beating on specialized racing tires and how many charges they have on their battery packs... its a safer investment for noobs maybe.
All things that might help your idea gain steam.
Those classes don't need to be strictly for youngsters either. Everyone can get in on fun on a 'stock only' race so theres lots of folks to attract to this at a moderately low entry price. 😎
