Can you get a FB group going local or some sort of existing local groups interested?
If there are kids currently racing, maybe they can start reaching out to other kids in school too.
Grass root! 👍
You'll have an internationally known track by fall! 🤣
I agree 100% on that! Slash class or run what you brung class! Anything to grow the hobby and get kids into it!
The kids are the focus. ❤️

Lurking these forums for a while now - figured I'd check in from Bozeman and say I concur; having more local outdoor (heck even indoor) would be welcome. I'm just about to build my first 1/8 nitro (first nitro as well), and I'd love to have a dedicated track to run vs. blindly running it around here. Great Falls is still a three hour drive or so, but it's better than nothing.

I agree with you there. We have an indoor carpet track her in Billings we do off road and onroad on. What do you run?

I'm an rc heli guy who got drawn into all the re-release kits from Tamiya, Kyosho, AE, etc., which motivated me to build up a few modern buggies to toy with, but thus far I have never actually raced. I'm game for carpet and outdoor though, but with a 10-month old free time is at a premium. I'm hoping he'll be into it once he gets a bit older.

There's a couple guys that drive up from Bozeman to race in Greatfalls at their events. I'm in Billings

I've done a fair bit of shopping with Hobby Time RC; good dudes. I'm from Helena and go back a lot, so I'll have use that as an excuse to get over to Great Falls one of these days. We had a pretty nice track here 15 years or so ago, but it didn't last long unfortunately.

Do you guys have an rc club there?

We have an AMA flying field but nothing geared towards the racing side of the hobby as far as I can know. It would seem most around here are of the basher and crawler variety.
Yes that's the same here for the most part. Guys that I race with do not like anything but indoor carpet so it's going to be a chore to get an outdoor track going here.
