Mojave Noise

My buddy bought a Arrma Mojave EXB. Put the factory ESC and Motor (Spektrum Firma 150). It seems to run OK but it sounds like a Sherman tank. The Hobby Shop guys (multiple) said it's metal to metal gears and it's going to be noisy but it seem excessive to me. But then again they couldn't agree on if you should grease the spur/pinion or not.

What's normal noise for that?

Check to make sure that you have the mesh set properly overly loose or overly tightened will cause noise. You can set it by using a piece of paper between the gears and then tighten it down and roll the paper out

I think yours sounds more electric than grindy like my friends. It will get quieter as the gears wear in.
