I am in need of on-road tires and wheels for parking lot racing in dry weather. I came accross the following and am leaning towards the 45 shore:
Tarmac II 35 shore "Inter" 1/8th Rally IAS Tires Pre-glued
Tarmac II 45 shore "Medium" 1/8th Rally IAS Tires Pre-glued
Tarmac II 60 shore "Firm" 1/8th Rally IAS Tires Pre-glued
I can't find these wheels/tires at my LHS and have been checking on the internet. At this time I am only able to order the 35 shore or 60 shore because the 45 shore is out of stock.
Anybody have any experience with these wheels and tires and can recommend whether I should wait for the 45 shore to come in stock or if the 35 shore or 60 shore will be good enough for my purposes? How long do these last?
W2FAST made the following observation:
"35. They seem to have good grip for parking lot beatings and course driving. Anything harder, I would think the buggy would want to skid around too much... these seem to have just enough give to slide when needed but still have control. I could see where you could get real lose with a harder tire to be honest with you.
Maybe the 45, but anything higher than that, I wouldn't suggest it. The weight of our buggies and the speed that they get with how the center of gravity is, I just think it would end up bad in a hard turn with power behind it."
Opinions?
