Castle is known for switch issues. With that said I usually cut it and braid the wires when it starts acting up. Below is the switch.

I didn't think the first generation XLX had that type of harness. Wasn't all the wires hardwired?
Isn't that harness only for the XLX2 esc?
@shiraz You can take the two wires that would be the switch wires and connect them together to bypass the need for one. Then the battery plug would be the "on & off"
