can someone shed some light on this for me. . .i'm looking for a heatsink with a fan and i need to know what the can size is on my mmm, i have the castle blower on it now but it doesn't work as well as castle creations said it would so i was looking on ebay for one and they have a bunch but i don't know what the can size is on my motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sorry to not answer your question, I dont know, but if you are over heating and have the CC blower on it, Id look at maybe changing your gearing a bit.

It's 43 or 44mm, can't quite remember. And I'm to lazy to take the body of my XXL to measure.

Ah to heck with I just measured it, 42mm OD of the cooling fins.

The Mamba Monster motor specs are as follows Length: 75.5mm (2.97") Diameter: 40.5mm (1.59"). Get something that is close and you should be in business.

Hmm apparently they don't consider the cooling fins at all when measuring the diameter.

like sng said, i would look at gearing first. (unless you are seriously undervolted)

is this on an e-revo?? I wouldn't run anything over an 18T with a 54T spur. I find it amazing the motor hasn't totally crapped out on you yet.

i told them i do 99% on road running with street tires and i wanted crazy top speeds, and his exact words to me were "you need a 24t pinion and 54t spur gear and you will be doing close to 70 in no time"

did you ask him if there would be any side effects such as excessive motor heat and shortened life?

what are your motor temps?

No actually my dumb@$$ failed to ask that question, my motor temps generally run somewhere in the neighborhood of 130 to 135 depending on how hard i am on it

130-135 is perfectly acceptable. I would have thought you were much higher than that.

x2 with flm, if your seeing 135 out of running hard then you dont really need to be looking for more/better cooling.

What is the temp of the ESC when running hard? That could also be a problem.

Hot ESC= overgeared
Hot motor = undergeared

Or at least that's what I've been told.

I never thought to check it cuz the fan never kicks on so i figured it was under 150, but now that i think about it maybe my fan crapped out
