Hey guys,
I just bought the Mamba Max Pro SCT edition off Ebay For 176.95 shipped. Its the 1415 motor 4 pole 2400kv with the mamba max pro esc. I'm so exited. Now i'm stuck choosing a battery that will push this set up over the top money isn't an issue so what do you guys recommend? and i'm going to use deans connecter's.

Thanks:D:

For a slash 4x4

Oh yeah higher c rate is best but i also need a hard case because of racing.

Your going to spin significantly less rpm's going from a 3500kv motor to a 2400. You should be able to make up the difference with gearing. If there is room.

So what does that mean matt? i'm kinda confused

Lower kv= less rpm's/more torque. More kv= more rpm's/less torque. So you will probably have to run a bigger pinion gear to achieve the same speeds as the old motor. Unless you run a bigger battery.

lower kv/higher voltage will be good for a 4wd short course truck. but the 3500 was prob. a pretty good setup to start with.

Yeah so what should i gear it to too have good high speeds with good tourqe. Then what gearing is good for pure tourqe, and so in with just high speed

not sure any of us could tell you the answer to that question, it's really something you have to expirement with. purchase a 3 or 4s lipo and use the gear you had before. keep an eye on the motor tempature. keep raising the pinion till it's at a tempature you don't want to surpass. run it there.

+1. You'll have to experiment or talk with somebody that is running the same setup. Give it a go with the stock gearing and go from there. If you were running it on 2s before, 3s would make up the difference and more.

Okay so i need help finding a hard case 3 or 4 cell lipo and what is a good motor temp for and electric what is to hot and what is running temp? And how do check the temp do i use a temp gun that i use for my t-maxx or is their and onboard deal that would work or what? I love your guys help but opens up new ?'s like i just asked :)

other people on here know more than i do and can help you farther than i can, with that being said. i do believe your t-maxx temp gun will be fine. just point it at the electric motor and get your temp. as far as too hot? gonna have to wait for someone with more knowledge than me to post the answer to that. if mine are too hot to touch, there too hot...

i was out running my evader today on a 9.6 volt 8 cell pack. on the road it only got a little warm, took it in the dirt it got pretty hot. i've already ordered a fan for it. maybe that will cool it down, if not i'll have to lower the gearing some more

but that's the old hpi flux setup for 1/10th scale. 5700kv motor/esc combo. it's not rated from hpi to run 3s. but i think it will be fine as long as the motor doesn't get too warm.

The motor and the esc have fans coming with them. so hopefully thats a plus. If the motor still gets hot do i want to gear it up or down for cooler temps.

you'll need to go smaller on the pinion larger on the spur.

i usually adjust via the pinion. 1 tooth on the pinion is like 3 or so on the spur. the pinion is the gear on the motor if you didn't know.

if you have to go down so far that your pinion no longer reaches the spur, you'll have to go with a bigger spur.

to be honest, i think your motor is going to run really cool on 3s and you'll be able to gear up the pinion. 4s i'm not so sure. when i say gear up the pinion i mean raise the size of the pinion gear for better top speed. you'll still have good torque with that motor.

So i'm thinking i'm going to buy a 2s and a 3s lipo but i'm having trouble finding hard case's i want as much c as possible and i'm looking between 5000mah and 5600mah. Can you help me find something that fits these requirements. And like you said these batteries shouldn't get the motor hot is the way i'm understanding you am i correct?

3s is the smallest lipo i'd run with that motor.

i can't help ya on the lipo's though, i buy cheap ebay lipo's i'm in need of some more atm. i been running my ni-mh's

Okay 3cell it is thank you for your help and pointing me in the right direction.
