Hey guys, my friend has his engine in his mgt screwed up right now and he was considering putting an electric motor in it and all. We could make our own motor mount and all, but I was wondering how much power would you need to get it going good?

Would a standard motor like one of those $40 ones, like a 13 turn or something do the trick along with some 3000 mah packs?

The mgt weighs about 11 pounds and its got big tires, let me know. Thanks

For something like that, I really suggest a brushless set-up. You can get away w/ a 1 motor set-up or something. But for non-brushless, the e-maxx weighs much less, and uses large 550 motors. (std. are 540)

It would be a lot cheaper to buy another nitro engine for it. You will need a large brushless set up to give it good power/speed. Something like a Hacker 50 or maybe the Novak HV. Both would need to run on 12-14 good cells.

It costs more to buy/run a quality electric than it does to run a quality nitro.

PS: When I say good speed your looking at around 30 with the Novak and with a ton of cells the Hacker might get close to 40....maybe.

And electric you have charge time and that sort of bs. Nitro add fuel and go!

yes, but my neighbor likes electric better because he gets scared from his car starting LOL. and electric stays cleaner as well. also, when gas is close to $30 a gallon, batteries cost only a bit to charge, that his parents pay anyway.

Tell your neighbor to do the smart/cheap thing...Put another nitro mill in it.
