Took the body off for a little reinforcement
I clean the body then let it air dry
Then apply as thin as I can of concrete tape (I've found it to be much stronger than drywall tape)
Then apply a thing as possible later if show goo.
Screwed the cage back onto the body and after it dries for a day I'll be ready to bash as hard as I want without worrying about replacing the 90$ body yet.
On the list however is I need body mounts so I can throw a different body on her

Also got in my proline LMT hub adapters
So we now have the JConcepts renegades mounted up on the tribute rims ready for race practice
Gotta learn to keep this bad boy on all 4 tires

https://jconcepts.net/lmt-17mm-hex-adaptor--tribute-wheels
Had to get this set of hex adapters for the other wheels to fit
There is also the lesser-known option of switching to 12mm hexes on the axles which makes wheel swapping on race day much easier with 12mm being the standard when buying wheels. Means you only have to buy these hexes once and you don't have to buy a set of 17mm hubs for every set of wheels you add (and if you start racing...you'll be adding wheels lol)

Here's the part:

I like having the big ol hex tho doesn't it hold up better to the torque?
I thought about throwing a set of 12mm I had lying around but then decided against it
Also the set I had were plastic so they would certainly not have worked
I'll have to order a set of those adapters with my next tires since it is a cheaper in long run option 😁

That's a good point that I had forgotten about! The 12mm hexes do like to spin out plastic hubs when doing the freestyle tricks with instant reverse...it's been so long since I've driven my monsters that I've forgotten all about that.

hey hey, i got off my lazy butt today and took the sling apart to see the actual damage. wasn't as bad as i thought,

and as I'm looking at the broken rear axle mount (LOS242052) i realise the truck CAME WITH A REPLACEMENT SET!!!!!!!!
476503480_1347865389882228_3167563568678739576_n.webp

so i dig out the losi bag, find the mount and swap out the bearings (oof mine are rough from that salt water slush run,... oof definately gotta replace them before we race lol
but i swap em out no problem

i put the wheels back on and set it down very pleased with myself... but wait whats this??? the front right shock isnt moving at all..... better pull that shock and see whats up.

well that shocks bent all to hell ugh.
now i need a set of shocks.
wouldnt you know it. the set of mounts i ordered off ebay shippede literally as I'm doing the replacement,
i realized i had them on hand, went to the bay, cancel order was an option.
i decide to do the work then cancel the order.. ten mins later, ding your order has shipped..
"but... but I'm still smoking a bowl and only removed one screw.... you just messed up my plans!!!!!"
o well got a set of aluminum to replace em with if i decide to or if i break another whichever happens first

Double check those spare lockouts. I can’t recall if the LMT comes stock with zero toe or a few degrees installed…but the spares are one or the other. If those replacements are the 3 degree units, they’re directional. There’s a tiny, very easy to miss arrow on each of them which should point to the front of the truck.

i did not know or notice this!
so I'm looking at the broke one, has an arrow and a 3
the replacement has a 0
so i need to swap the other side over as well so they are both at 0
o man thanks so much brother

Yep yep! Now just don’t strip those dumbass tiny screws holding them on and you’re money!

Good catch! :thumbs-up:

You might want to think about picking up those 3° carriers. The angle will effect your handling at high speeds. 😎

so the included set are o degree (how did you do the symbol???) the virtual says their for the rear, i notice a huge difference in them.
the o's do NOT have any arrows on them, I'm assuming its because they are centered and not off set so it wont matter the orientation,
i have it taken apart more thoroughly And I'm going to wait until I can order a set of three degree offset rear axle mounts.
and a set of bearings. when shopping for bearings do i shop by size? brand ? model?
