Build Thread Lost in a Tekno MT410

Holy crap dude.

That ESC is sctually smaller than the recommended systems on Castle's MT410 page. So hmm. You're going to have to find an ESC plate to mount it up higher.

That M2C one you sent me the info on is probably the one you want, but I would call M2C and verify, because I don't see any pics of it installed in an MT410 to see where it goes.

It says it mounts to the M2C Horizontal brace, or the rear servo position. So maybe that ESC plate would be best mounted to this...

The way it reads though is that brace is just a replacement part and it needs the tower brace, which I think the whole kit 6970 has everything I need?

Yeah, I am not sure. They are good people though. They will fix you up.

But it looks like you need the horizontal brace (6973), the tower brace (6971), and the ESC plate (6974). Or you could just grab the Go Big or Go Home kit (6970).

Here is a video of M2C installing the 6970 kit. It gives you two mounting options for the ESC plate.

Yeah I watched that video, and just the esc plate will go in that left rear corner, but it looks like the esc will hang over the side of the chassis so it doesn’t hit the center diff? So I’m going to have to go up with it I believe, and that kit looks to be the ticket. I sent them an email about it.

I apologize for leading you astray, and costing you more money. But it's Castle's fault

I find it strange that the Cobra ESC is actually smaller than the combo's Castle recommends for that kit, and it still doesn't fit in there

The Tekno's nice and light so less chance of a ESC Dying.

It's the principle. I wouldn't buy a top of the line RC and toss a RTR ESC in it.

We have the 6S Kraton with nearly the full line of M2C upgrades on it. I wouldn't be scared to run over it with a small hatchback. It's 7075 aluminum, which is damn near bulletproof. Grab their chassis for it down the road. It's pretty impressive.

My MT410 started life with a BLX185 .. then to a TC Torox 185. I put a Redcat rtr esc in my X-ray XB8!!

Don't get too excited, the XB8 is a 2007 model, nitro converted to electric. A rebranded SC8 from way back, 2-4s rated for a whopping 80A!! Darn thing won't die.

Yeah-the Castle stuff is HUGE, and that truck (like ALL Tekno’s) was built around the best available-Tekin… I’ll see what I can find.. Check your PM’s bigdog..

Cobra ESC: 60mm x 52mm x 43mm
MM2 ESC: 53mm x 49mm x 36.4mm

Motors are supposedly the same length.

Yes, an HW rebrand. I respect the fact that the Castle, Tekin and even Xerun by HW are superior. I don't have the scratch for them. Honestly though, for fun/bashing, I can't imagine my ET48 needs more speed or power than the Torox 185 esc and Ten Shock 2200kv I have in them.

I definitely dig the Tekno's though. Have 2, OG MT410, which now is in ET48 trim, and SCT410.3. Top notch. Love me a few more!
Got the old XB8, but wouldn't mind an EB48 too. Maybe one day.
